  1. I vote for orange with black wheels and anodized gold bead locks....Tyrone, this is outstanding, one serious Nova!!
  2. amazing work Chris...getting better and better every time I look!!
  3. Thanks for the comments guys....I had some trouble, for the good, I think? Well, I was moving right along with more front end work and managed to drop one of my steel plates on the nose, last count was broke into 6 different pcs, about as many sub-assy's as it took to make it. Bummer, goodbye Camaro!!! I'll try another one sometime? So, instead of giving up, a friend emailed me a cool pic of a prototype 2012 Trans-Am production ride...guess you know where I'm going with this, he, he, he. New nose, new rear window area and new top from about halfway back. All of this is based on the 1978 T/A, and yes, I think it will be the "Blackbird" paint job!! The cool thing is I've never seen the 2012 T/A proto as a Pro-Mod, so I hope I'm the first....lol. Hope you like it, planning some more work this evening....reducing headlight opening size, fenderwell flaring, light spoiler on the sides and doing something with the hood.
  4. Thanks so much for the comments guys, great motivation....been able to do a little bit more, just love doing this stuff. Taking a break after this body to build something finished, just a "plain ole dragster", maybe a '55 chevy?? Couple more mods 1) One grill half is in, light filling/sanding to go on it for that smooth one-pc look 2) Rear Bumper has been extended 2mm, more blending to go 3) Cut old C-pillars at their base, then narrowed rear 4mm 4) Reworked window area, from door line to C-Pillar start, going for that curve from headlights all the way to door line, then the rear fender curve. 4) After rear back together, replaced left C-pillar and pushed out 2mm towards side of car, lowered back of top 1mm more. Next mods on the list...fine-tune proportions, smooth over rear end, more filling/sanding/smoothing and see where it stands, change from a 2010 to a 2012, thanks for looking!
  5. Gonna be great, looks mean already
  6. Way to go Roger, beautiful build
  7. Chop, cut, rebuild....repeat. Back at it with a few more updates. Jim, I'm leaning towards a Nitrous setup, not sure yet. Thanks for looking! 1) Top has been chopped 1mm in rear and 1.5mm in front so it will angle down a bit, think it matches the profile for this body mod 2) Remade A-pillars with a very slight arc, wanted to go with more arc, this is what i came up with 3) Nose has been lengthened 2.5mm, added about 1/3 of the way from lights to frt wheels 4) Filled in opening in hood and started defining the rear bumper 5) Did some filling/smoothing/priming, and of course more sanding Some of the next items will be fine-tuning the nose, rear, fenderwell shape and hood-bulge. Once all that is close, I'll start adding a bit of flaring around bottom and inside of fenders.
  8. This is gonna be wicked, I've enjoyed your build, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see it finished.
  9. Thanks for looking in. I've been able to do some more. This time I've re-shaped the front fenderwell, more a-pillar work and chopped the top 1mm in the back. I've also pulled the bottom of the front airdam back toward the rear of the car and curved that section... Next on the list is to add another 2mm to the nose length, add the grill insert and start filling/smoothing. Then I should be able to move to the back and shape it up, maybe start my rear wing. I still think I'll add another 1-2mm behind the rear wheels to lengthen it up a bit.
  10. Great work Rom, Keep it up, u know I'll be following!
  11. Holy WOW!!! This is stellar-rific!! I enjoy checking this one out, grew up at the local dirt track, still a big fan of them...oh yeah, big fan of your build too. Keep going and good luck in your adventures.
  12. I think I remember seeing this one as a wip....turned out great! I loved it then and certainly now. This is one to be proud of.
  13. Good eye Scott, I had that very topic run thru my head while working on the rear. I'm really not sure what I'm going to do there. I first thought that I could extend the bumper, scratch my wing and see where it goes. One of two ways, I certainly have much more to do. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for following along guys. I've been able to do a little more to the Camaro. I still have a fair amount of work/plans to go, so hang in there with me. Bart, thanks for sharing the info. I have had good plans for this one from the start which included some of the suggestions you had. As for trying to copy what the current 1:1's look like, really not my style. I prefer to give it a go and see how things shape-up or not...lol. Thanks for looking and hope to have more updates soon.
  15. Looking good Roger...awesome, awesome paint!!
  16. Hey Tyrone, you ride is totally killer,,,,you gotta go for that mean, mean paint job. That may be one of the best paint schemes I've ever seen...btw, it now resides as my desktop background!!
  17. Couple more pix...
  18. Hello all....new year, new project. I found this little Camaro at a local wally-world as a MAITO remote control car, 1/25. I thought it was cool, so picked it up and started hacking as usual. I've been wanting to do a Camaro P/M for a really long time and thought this would be a good place to start. Once this one makes it to where some of my others are, I will hopefully probe them at work to generate my 3D models and maybe experiment with some 3D-printed protos, still a ways to go though. I started by ripping out the chassis and trying to figure out what next, wheelbase looked close without adding between the wheels...I did add around 3/16" actual behind the front wheels with cut and formed opening inserts. This also helps to figure out the style of wheel opening. Also, out came a portion of the top, around 7/16" actual. The top is pretty close now after an angle adjust and the plan is to lay back the A-Pillar angles close to their original location. The nose has rec'd the most work so far, still working on fine tuning the overall nose shape, actually I'm a little over the 45" spec for the 1:1's...I'll have to fix that. Hope you follow along and enjoy the trip. I plan on trying a couple different things to help the overall profile that I've never done before, hope it works. Thanks for looking!!
  19. Professional Grade A++....nuff said. I love it.
  20. Ken, that chassis work is absolutely b-e-a-utiful...I'll bet you'll have tons of fun hanging that body also. Man, this will be something else...Great, great work!!!
  21. Fab and machine work look awesome on that rear end assy...We just rolled in a brand new CNC Vertical Machining Center at work and I'm planning some items for my builds, should be fun. Merry Christmas to you also and I look fwd to seeing your progress on this.
  22. Dave, I just ran across this...wish I would have sooner. I appreciate you posting the most interesting topic I've read on this forum! This is great stuff and your work is legend man. Great work and I'll certainly check in more.
