  1. Hmmmm, the Turbine Car and the '59 Dodge? I believe that I may have both of them in my "stash" already.
  2. Very nice Jack.
  3. When I turned 18 and started working full-time and going to school, I was "on my own" as far as money was concerned. My parents just didn't have it. I paid them room & board, paid for my own telephone bills, cars, car insurance, gas, etc.
  4. I sometimes use Dupli-Color with no problems and it can be used with Testors, Tamiya, Black Gold, and MCW primers, colors, and clears with no ill effects. At least, I've never had any.
  5. VERY cool! Thanks for posting.
  6. What "irked me today" is that colder weather is comin' to the Midwest. I really think that we should have another month of "fair weather" and one month less of winter weather, no?
  7. Another good time at our monthly AMG meeting tonight, and it was great seeing Kerry & his daughter Lily, Kennyboy, Ben, Michael from Illinois, etc.
  8. I have one o f Kevin's '65 Continental sedan bodies, that I bought for a special project that I had in mind. Right now I have no idea when I'll get to that project.
  9. That is great news Kerry, and there is hope.
  10. If they built 100's at a time, they were "tract homes" and cheaply made to be affordable to the masses. By buying building materials in bulk, they could have easily had some siding left over, only to use it on the next house. A lot of "tract homes" had brick fronts.
  11. Time to put away the Harley Craig?
  12. If it was a so called "high end" house, they would have used the vinyl siding or even brick. They probably used the aluminum siding because they had it left over from another job, and wanted to get rid of it.
  13. When in doubt, you can always send your Bolander Impala to me. Thanks, as I'm always happy to help out.
  14. I just use my hands, but the key factor is to let the body dry long enough. I've never had any problems.
  15. Yes, back-in-the-day in the mid-60's I used an AMT Fairlane body for a slot car as we had a few tracks nearby.
  16. Oh how well I know the feeling. Seems a lot easier to buy kits, than to build them.
  17. We did, but that'll change quickly.
  18. Yes they did, and if I recall correctly I've never had either one of them.
  19. Will you be getting new siding as well?
  20. CRAZY yes, but it doesn't surprise me.
  21. I usually decant rattle can paints by spraying directly on the model car body, with great results.
  22. Just about everything beats getting into an accident. In an accident with no one getting hurt physically, you need to call the police, exchange info, give the police your info and side of the story, get a copy of the police report, call your insurance company, explain what happened, get estimates for repairs, take the vehicle in for repairs, and pay the deductible when the vehicle is finished, hopefully to your liking. If someone gets hurt, it's a whole new ballgame.
  23. I'm pleased that my 20 year old Toro runs like a top, and I got my lawn cut today as well as my neighbors. I'm also likin' my new leaf/vac blower too.
  24. I thought the Switcher kits were pretty good for its time.
  25. That's one of the reasons I have a truck for a daily driver, so I can "haul" stuff that I or my wife buys.
