  1. Welcome Rodney as this is a great place to be. I visited Charleston a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it very much.
  2. I install my photo-etched parts after I'm done polishing out the clear coat on my model. I use 5-Minute Epoxy for this, and it seems to work well.
  3. Black billboard decals? I always thought that "triple black" was a black body, black interior, and a black vinyl top.
  4. I totally agree with Rich and I also like M.A.D.'s magnetos as well. If you don't like them, you can always send them to me. Thanks!
  5. I'm sure that you'll be able to get those spots out Rudy. I picked up two of those kits this year, just so I could "rob" the engine, chassis, and wheels & tires from that kit.
  6. Very nice job on that '57 Todd.
  7. I just checked the 10 day forecast for Fairbanks, Alaska and it looks like they'll stay below the freezing mark all of those day. Already?
  8. The market may be a bit "shakey" as a company would expect to sell say10,000+ kits, and only sell maybe 2,000 would be devastating.
  9. Welcome to the forum Gordon, as this is a great place to be.
  10. I woke up on the topside of the turf feelin' pretty good for my age. Everything else is carp today, but after all it is Monday. Oh well.
  11. I saw snow this past August Craig, but I was in a different part of the country. In another month I'll get my snow-thrower out of the shed and put it in the garage. Yes, I'll also have to start it up and make sure that it runs before the first snowfall.
  12. They are still simple for me Mike, as I'm a "rattle can" man. I find that I get good results with them, and I don't have to mix or thin paint, clean tips, clean the air- brush, check the water trap, or set the air pressure, etc.
  13. The weather is still nice enough to take that Impala out Harry, even with the top up.
  14. Kenneth, I got around those paint problems by building the pre-decorated Batmobile. I had a LOT of fun building it, as I was constantly checking the website so I could get the details right, or at least close. Even though the kit was pre-painted, I still used 'bout 18 colors to detail and finish the model. I also liked the pre-painted figures as well. Someone said that they were rather cartoonish, and I certainly hope so as Batman started out life as a COMIC book.
  15. You got that right Jake, as there are cry babies everywhere who will complain about anything just for the sake of complaining.
  16. Cobraman, I've had 8MM and Super 8MM film laying around from the 60's with footage of drag racing mostly and had them put on a DVD last year. While they still look pretty good, I wish that I had done it 'bout 20 years ago and also added a "sound track" as well.
  17. Build on Kennyboy. LOL!
  18. Welcome to the forum Mark, and I see that you have a lot of reference material at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. I hope to get back there one day. My late brother used to live in Ocala before he passed on.
  19. Nice build on that altered roadster.
  20. They just had a bit on tonight's late news that more and more of today's teenagers are being struck by vehicles, because the pedestrians are too distracted with their precious iphones or their ear-buds. How could that be??? You mean to tell me that they are not safe to cross the streets on their own Back in the 50's we had streets and vehicles, and our parents taught us to cross at the intersections, and to look both ways before doing so. Aren't those instructions valid anymore? I think that pedestrians should carry insurance, because they cannot take responsibility when crossing the streets. Yeah right, like that's gonna happen.
  21. I believe that it was the Deuce Coupe, the Deuce Roadster, the '32 Ford Vicky, the '40 Ford Coupe, the '40 Ford Sedan, and also the '40 Ford Sedan Delivery. Maybe the '25 T as well?
  22. Barris would NEVER take credit for something that he didn't do, would he???
  23. Charlie, maybe a helmet and fire suit are in order for your new job?
  24. Carl, I don't know if the world is much harder out there than when we were 18, especially when these kids always seem to have the latest iphone, Xboxes, ipads, money for booze & drugs, money to shop for clothes, and drive decent cars as well. Times certainly ARE different than when we were younger though.
  25. I could easily do without SNOW this coming winter as it would be a real treat, however I'm just dreamin'.
