  1. I just saw him last Nov. at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals show and he didn't look too "chipper" back then. I did manage to get his autograph and I may have taken his photo(?) also. I believe I saw him race at one of the local tracks back in the 60's. May he RIP.
  2. That "bowtie" is lookin' REAL good so far.
  3. I recently purchased the '32 Chevrolet Roadster kit by MPC and I hear that they're pretty hard to come by.
  4. The mail carrier brought these Jo-Han kits today. All are sealed except for the Eldo which is started but the body has not been painted.
  5. I just saw Norm at the NNL in toledo last October and he looks to be doing well and still has great stuff which I brought some home.
  6. To say the least, that is going to be AWESOME.
  7. Kalmbach doesn't put on this show, but the members of AMG (Auto Modeler's Group) of Wisconsin does.
  8. Casey, hopefully the weather will be good and I'm sure lots of guys will be there as we usually have 600+ models on the table, Rock n' Roll music, and a great raffle also. The "other" mag should be there taking photos as they usually do. It is really a great event and I was to be in Buffalo that weekend for another model show until I remembered the date, so I'll be at the Milwaukee NNL.
  9. While I'm NOT a fan of rust, you did a really great job on that rod.
  10. I've seen Mr.Obsessive's paint jobs and I can surely vouch for his advice, take it.
  11. I've been there before and sold all my stuff, boy was I sorry. Never again.
  12. A few years back there was a builder from the Fond du Lac, Wi area that did a cut-away NASCAR for the Milwaukee NNL and it was a drop-dead-gorgeous model and he also had cut-away views of the wheels & tires, engine, etc.. The "other " magazine would not publish any photos of it because it had Jack Daniels decals on it. What an awesome build it was.
  13. After your testimonials, I guess I'm going to have to order that resin body from Bandit that I've been eyein' for awhile.
  14. I only open about a third of my unbuilt kits so I usually just toss my latest purchase on the "pile."
  15. Contest Issue? I thought the next issue would be the "dune buggy" issue, what a bummer!
  16. Nice work on those wheel well openings.
  17. I've been doing business with Dick Strang Automotive on and off since the mid 80's and they DO know there stuff.
  18. I've worked in Waukegan before and also at the Navy Base. I usually get to Waukegan a couple times a year and my wife sometimes has to work there also. I've passed the Quonset many times but never have stopped in there. I also have work done on my vehilces at Strang Automotive.
  19. That's the way I'm plannin' on build my newe Revell '57 Ford Custom when it is released, and the "pit crew" looks good too.
  20. Lookin' good! Nice job on an old AMT favorite and good color choices also.
  21. The 427 from Revell's Yenko '69 Nova would work also.
  22. Those are really nice tires but it's too bad they're not period correct for the models that I build.
