  1. I remember that kit well as I had built one and got rid of it when I got out of modeling for a spell. Wouldn't mind having another, but then again I have a lot to build already.
  2. LOTS of cars shows & cruise nights going on guys. So get out your cameras and get some great pics for building projects and reference photos. Enjoy the sun, cars , and girls while you can because YOU know how it's going to be come Dec.- March. Besides, life is short so enjoy it!
  3. Nice build Frank and it looks "spot on" from the one I seen in Florida last year.
  4. Thanks for the info Casey.
  5. I just won a Tim Flock "55 Chrysler at the club meeting last night but haven't opened it as yet. I thought that there were some differences in the two Chrysler kits besides the decals, no?
  6. Good idea Chris and thanks. We used to use thread pulled through wax back in the 60's for spark plug wiring.
  7. I've heard that he is likable and fan friendly and yes the "rat roaster" IS a high dollar car. But when you got it, spend it as life is short.
  8. Ya just gotta love dem Mopars!
  9. While I would "like" a '50 Olds and a '57 Ford, I'm not waiting for them as having them or not won't dhange my life one bit. I have plenty of un-built kits in my stash to keep me happy.
  10. Somebody offers a resin body with a one piece front end. Maybe Scale Modeling by Chris?
  11. WRONG, "back in the day" in the Gas Coupe & Sedan class, the gassers were street driven hot rods and had to be "street legal" with two seats, fenders, exhaust systems, front & rear lights, batteries, starters, etc. I hope this clears things up for you.
  12. I hafta agree with you Dave as many builders use the term "gasser" very loosely and on another forum they tend to use 'muscle car" very loosely also as I've seen them post Camaros (pony car), Ferrari's & Corvettes (sports cars), and even a '49 Merc (custom) under the Muscle Car listing. What gives?
  13. While I have plenty to build, I would LOVE to see that Mooneyes dragster reissued.
  14. I find it a LOT better than Krylon or Rustoleum and that's why I use it. I was able to pick mine up at a hobby shop so I didn't have to pay shipping. Of course I did spend enough on gas.
  15. Yes as I haven't noticed any coming off when handling the parts.
  16. Yes you need a black base coat. Spaz-Stix is made for lexan bodies and one would spray the Spaz-Stix on the inside of the clear lexan body and then use the black after that. We would use it just the opposite way and spray the black on first. BTW, I wouldn't suggest using clear over the Spaz-Stix.
  17. Kevin, I have used Spaz-Stix Mirror Chrome on both plastic and resin parts and I'm real happy with the product. I give the parts a light coat of primer and then Krylon Short Cuts Black as a base coat. Then 2 or 3 light coats of Spaz-Stix and there you have it. I have a couple of pictures of the parts I have done with it but I'm having trouble posting them for some reason. I also used this product on my current build that I hope to finish soon.
  18. I can hardly wait as I'm running out of kits to build and I'll be able to replenish my stash before the winter sets in.
  19. Yeah Trost was a good place and they were also a distributor for other hobby shops. I was a "Northsider" back then so I only got to Trost a couple of times. Many great hobby shops from "back in the day" which were the 60's for me have bit the dust as times have been changin' for quite awhile now.
  20. Wow, excellent work on that Mopar and the detailing is just great!
  21. Nice lookin' slot car.
  22. I use guitar string for my antennas and it works great!
  23. Yeah well the front end will sit high until you drop the engine in. Real nice display as your efforts shows it.
  24. Will you be using any "nitro" when you start it up?
