  1. I talked to a Revell rep just this past Saturday as they had a display at the Milwaukee NNL 20 and the Olds was displayed on a board showing all the parts and also the '62 Corvette and the '57 Ford the same way. He said to look for these kits in Sept., Oct., & Nov..
  2. I stopped at my LHS yesterday and picked up the latest issue of Model Cars along with a couple of newly released kits. I was kinda disappointed in the fact that there was NO coverage of any of the shows in the Midwest. What gives?
  3. I would be interested, but I don't get down that way as often as I'd like as my better half has different vacation destinations yearly.
  4. Mike, I've been going to Model Empire and Greenfield News & Hobby for quite some time now and they are in West Allis and Greenfield Wisconsin and seem to be the best around as far as car modeling goes. Yes much better than Venture or Al's
  5. Going to my two FAVE hobby shops would run me $25 in gas and two+ hours of driving time, so a lot of the times shipping is a bargain.
  6. I hafta agree with you as II've been using pre-wired dizzy's from Preston's for years and now I get them from M.A.D. and it works for me.
  7. If that were true what you say about Revell, they would have added the second bucket seat as I'm SURE this issue has been brought up before. Nuff said?
  8. I hope that some of you will car pool and attend the Milwaukee NNL 20 this coming Saturday as there will be plenty of "eye candy" as well as a great raffle and of course Rock N' Roll music too. And the "other " mag will also be shootin' photos for upcoming issues.
  9. Awesome job on those gassers, especially the Ford.
  10. Only ONE week from today on April 14th at The Excellence Center from 3 -9 pm at N4 W22000 Bluemound Road in Waukesha, Wisconsin. For more info: mdowd@wi.rr.com or scottiek1@charter.net
  11. Is it metallic or metalflake paint as there's quite a difference?
  12. Nice job on that Mopar Magnum engine. Will you be putting a decal on that oil filter, or no?
  13. Yeah I already was "chasing" the mower around the yard this past weekend, but it wouldn't surprise me if we had another frost and I've seen snow on Easter before also.
  14. I was going to build the Ramchargers dragster myself until 1320 released a die-cast one which I was able to pickup.
  15. Nice job on that "bowtie" and awesome paint!
  16. Hey Harry, is it safe to put away the snow-thrower until next winter or not yet???
  17. No I won't deal on my styrene '63 even though I have had it for a long time. It took me a long time to find it and I found it in an ad from a 1 : 1 car mag and just recently I found 10 Jo-Han kits in an ad from the same mag.
  18. I have an original '63 Dodge Polara kit by Jo-Han and I believe you can also get one from MCW. It might be a bit of a chore cutting out the hood, but it's been done many times so don't be intimidated.
  19. I bought my album at Office Max and use AVERY Heavyweight Sheet Protectors/Diamond Clear and it works great for storing decal sheets and they NEVER stick to each other or to the pages themselves. The sheet protectors come 25 to a pack and they are Archival safe, they won't lift print, and they are also acid free.
  20. Painting bodies by brush went out in the 60's with the introduction of spray cans buy Testor's, Pactra, and also AMT. While I have two air-brushes and a compressor that I never use, I do get good results with spray cans and there's quite a bit of choices today as far a color goes.
  21. While you say it's a fine kit which it is as I have three built, a couple started and a few unbuilt, all this kit is different decals and NO more as I noticed from your review that Revell still did NOT add another seat which IS required for the gasser classes but not for match racing. Thumbs down for Revell for not fixing this detail.
  22. I use Devcon 5-minute epoxy for almost everything as it dries clear and has a strong bond.
