While I don't paint spoons, many builders test paint spoons and it is an excellent idea to try paint colors and capatability on cheap plastic spoons. I've also heard of using empty plastic soda or water bottles as test bodies when learning to get the feel of an air brush or trying tecniques such as fading paint jobs, etc. This also works with rattle cans too as well as an air-brush.
They should work just fine as I know builder who mixes & matches Testors & Tamiya paints all the time with great results. I have also mixed & matched Testors, HOK, & MCW with no problems.
Taco trucks, roach coaches, gut wagons, we had them all on the construction jobs. Some even sold beer and cigarettes also. Maybe dope too, it wouldn't surprise me. One co-worker made a habit of eating from the gut wagon and got sick and missed two days work. Sometimes they wouldn't be too dependable and guys would miss out on food for break or lunch 'cause the wagon wouldn't show up. I'm glad those days are over for me.
This keyboard is my BIGGEST distraction. I know that if I spend less time at the keyboard and more time on the bench, things would be a lot better as far as model building goes.
There could be many reasons why Slixx is folding up and some may be none of our business also. It looks like a couple of resin casters might be closing up also, but we'll see.
I think the El-Camino would look a LOT better if you were to send it to my when you're done and it sits on MY shelf. All kidding aside, it looks really nice!
I'm lucky enough to have room for unbuilt kit boxes yet alone "air-boxes." Many years ago I used to ut out the end panels and save them but not any more. I put the empty model kit boxes in the recycle bin and keep a couple for transporting built models to shows, club meetings, and NNLs.
If you use 5 minute epoxy for your builds, you'll eliminate most needs for repairs. I know that the epoxy is expensive and there is waste, but I never take a repair kit with me anymore to shows, club meetings, NNL's, etc..
They have this show twice a year on the last Sunday in February and also September and it is a good show with LOTS of vendors. I look forward to going there as there is a large selection of kits, built-ups, die-cast, and resin. I don't think that you;ll be disappointed.
No I don't. I did one in the past but I guess I got rid of it when I got out of the hobby for a time. People ask me if I'm going to build a model of my car and I tell them that I can always go in the garage and look at it. I have a lot of other projects I'd rather be building.
