  1. Great pics Gerry but you missed the Hooters Car & Bike Show in Melrose Park today as Craig and I were lookin' for you. LOL!
  2. My dad was never into cars so I had to pick up on them on my own. Consider yourself lucky that your dad was and if I were you I'd just give those models and good bath, dry them and display them as built.
  3. Yes Bill the window mecahnism in your doors worked perfectly as you've shown me at one of the Toledo NNLs in the past. Great job!
  4. This show and model contest is this coming week from July 19th thru the 21st guys and I hope to see some of you there.
  5. You built it many years ago and did a great job on it, so don't dismantle it and just put it in your display case.
  6. Yeah, I like it a lot and I just picked up a started one last week at a club meeting. It has a lot of custom mods done to it already including the chopped top. Don't know when I'll get around to finishing it though.
  7. Nice job on that "bullet Bird" Ray.
  8. I prefer "cash & carry" when I buy model kits.
  9. One of drag racings living legends will be in Wisconsin tomorrow at the Attack of the Plastic Model Car Show and Swap Meet as well as the 1:1 car show The Cars That Time Forgot. That's at the Lake Lawn Lodge Resort in Delavan, Wi right on the corner of Hwy 50 and North Shore Drive. The legend is non other that Arnie "the farmer" Beswick from Morrison, Illinois. The Blue Max Funny Car will be there also along wiith the four engined Mustang and a jet car (truck?) also.
  10. Nice build on the trailer and it reminds me a bit of the trailer that Testors was offering and I usually saw them on the Hobby Lobby shelves.
  11. At our club meeting last night I heard that ALL the vendor tables are "sold out" and it looks to be a great show. It's too bad that I have another show to attend to tomorrow.
  12. I hope he had his model kits insured as it's relatively cheap for a PAP (Personal Articles Policy) and while we buy a model kit here or there one would be surprised at how much MOOLAH they have tied up into their hobby. I used to spray paint in the laundry room which also had the furnace & hot water heater located nearby, but not any more as I gave up on that idea a few years back.
  13. I love dem Mopars and yours is lookin' good. I looked at a 1:1 '70 Coronet R/T for sale about three years ago, but it didn't quite meet my expectations.
  14. LAZY? It cost LOTS to produce and issue a new model kit and they will have to sell LOTS of kits just to "break even" yet alone make a profit. How many kits were you planning on buying?
  15. I don't mind helping out a fellow modeler every now and then. Most of the times the stuff they ask for and I have, I probably will never use anyway, so why not help someone?
  16. Nice build on the truck and great photo, thanks.
  17. I'm likin' those skirts on the Elky.
  18. For those that can remember, 4th of July was a LOT better in the 50's for many reasons.
  19. Yes I remember Z Frank Chevrolet and also remember the Electraac too. I mostly remember Nickey Chevrolet and Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge as I only lived a few miles from both of them and also bought a Super Bee from Grand Spaulding in "69.
  20. The admission is $2 and the entry fee is $1 per model and for more info call Rick at: (262) 728-5003
  21. ANY paint job is not screwed up unless it can't be fixed. In your case I would let it dry and then strip the paint, re-prime and paint it again. Yeah I know it'll take awhile, but that 's the way it goes sometimes. Good luck with however you decide to fix it.
  22. Carl, I would have painted my interior with Testors Classic White (gloss) and the sprayed some Testors Dull-Cote over it.
  23. will be held THIS Sunday on July 8th at the Lake Lawn Lodge Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin from 10 am - 3 pm and there will also be a 1 : 1 car show The Cars That Time Forgot on the grounds as well and the Blue Max Funny Car will be there as well as Pontiac Drag Racing Legend Arnnie "the farmer" Beswick. The model show will be inside while the real cars will be outside and so far the temps are predicted to be a beautiful 84 degrees.
  24. If your near the Chicagoland area on the weekend before Thanksgiving you can see one of the finest displays of muscle cars anywhere at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals which are held every year at the Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Check it out as you won't be disappointed.
