  1. Merry Christmas to you as well.
  2. Right in the quote you left from the government website: Toys that are being marketed as being for an age below 14 would qualify. Toys and model sets marketed for adults do not qualify. We were amazed to see Sunward flouting the guidelines in their ads. I’m not saying I would turn down the savings but saying all model kits qualify is incorrect and some of these retailers are taking their chances.
  3. According to who, Dan? It’s not all model kits. See the video that I posted above. Panda Hobby, a Gundam shop in Toronto, is very specific on which kits that they can legally sell under this new legislation. During a ZOOM call last night we were checking a number of our kits including Tamiya and most of them said suitable of ages 14 and above making them ineligible for the tax holiday. Don’t get your hopes up unless your hobby shop is playing fast and loose with the rules.
  4. Well. We kinda have an answer, sort of, from one Ontario hobby retailer.
  5. I watch a YouTube channel called Carcheology. Randy found this Brubaker Box and restored it. (I admit that I haven’t watched the video posted here yet so this fact may be covered in the video and that I’m stating the obvious.)
  6. Yes, that's the store I was referring to. I'm used to Spotlight Hobbies board where we don't mention competitors. So far I don't think they know for sure yet.
  7. Love the ART car! The Dempsey one is pretty interesting too.
  8. One of the Toronto Model Shops is waiting to find out how they will be classified. I'm sure they will be considered toys but we will have to wait and see.
  9. Check out YouTube for Bus Grease Monkey. He recently bought a running 4070A. It's painted in 70's beige and brown and is a real time capsule.
  10. I've been following this series of Your Tube videos since the first one introducing the car. It has been very interesting seeing the respect with which Foose has treated the car.
  11. Very cool and beautifully executed, Claude. Kudos!
  12. Great build of a model not often seen built up. Kudos!
  13. #225 just arrived here in central Ontario today. Looks like another great issue!
  14. Has anyone in Ontario, Canada received their copy of issue 225 yet?
  15. Volvo P1800 both coupe and wagon, any Aston Martin.
  16. Wow! That’s in really nice shape for an Ontario car. Maybe came from down south.
  17. I'm not much of a Porsche guy but that is pretty cool! May be on my to buy list.
  18. Anthony has responded on Spotlight Hobbies board. He has had health issues but is now doing better and slowly getting back to model building.
  19. I’m not sure if they use the vast quantities of salt/chemicals on the roads in Finland as they do here in Ontario, Canada. An unprotected older vehicle here will rust out in a few short years of winters.
  20. If you intend to winter drive it I would go with the Lincoln because who cares if it rusts away. My choice would be the Nova because I like 6 cylinder four door cars but only if it is a summer only car.
  21. I believe Elwood Engel was involved in the design of the Thunderbird as well as the Chrysler Turbine Car when he moved from Ford to Chrysler.
  22. Yes, he built some great teens, 20's and 30's vehicles. I always loved seeing his posts here and elsewhere. No idea what happened to him though..
  23. Well as a Model A owner, I have to say any Model A, any year, any body style. If I were to go further afield, I would say 1940 Ford Coupe, 1937 Cord or a 1941 Lincoln Continental
  24. It may have started as a Canadian thing because our Mercury dealers wanted cars that could go head to head with Ford products to get more people through the doors.
  25. My first reaction was that it was a Kellison Kit car but any googling that I've done, this does not match any of their product. It does look kit car-ish but who knows.
