  1. Drew, it really varies from show to show. There is no universal set definition of classes. It all depends on the organizers of that particular show. Generally box stock means nothing but what came in there kit box with the exception of coatings like paint and bare metal foil and sometimes flocking. But no aftermarket stuff like wiring, photo etch etc or parts from other kits. Usually the instructions have to be displayed with the model. After that show organizers are usually the ones that determine what they expect in a class. I've found that at most shows the people running the show will do their best to help you place the model into the correct category if you ask at the registration table.
  2. Given the number of body styles there are not nearly enough Model A kits out there….. Need a repp of 28/29 sedan, need 28/29 coupe, need a 30/31 Closed cab pick-up. I need a 31 slant windshield Town Sedan to build a model of my Model A. I could go on…..
  3. Welcome to the forum, Wayne. Lots of great builds and info here. Hope you enjoy the time here. Look forward to seeing your builds.
  4. Sweet! Love the colour you chose. Looks very period correct. Kudos!
  5. Absolutely gorgeous! Just a beautiful, beautiful build. Thanks for taking the time to share it here.
  6. I am lucky to have a selection of t-shirts designed by Todd for NNL East including the one being offered. So I hope it goes to someone unable to attend NNL East as I have been lucky enough to do on a number of occasions. Thanks for offering these, Tom and I do proudly wear my NNL East t-shirts. They occasionally show up in my infrequent YouTube videos. I just happen to have the 2010 version on now which ironically features an 80's Mustang.
  7. Oh Yeah! It looks like another great piece of work from Kris. Will be on the must have list for the next time I meet them at a show.
  8. Glenn, nice work. As we build each one gets a little better. Looks like a car that has been on the road awhile that has a new young owner that gave it a quick paint job to express his style. Could be in the background of American Graffiti. Really like it.
  9. I don't know what it is but it certainly gave me a good laugh!
  10. Your wagon is off to a good start, James. Look forward to seeing how you work out the hinging of the tailgate.
  11. Very cool! Looks perfect to me. Wheels are really well done. A great build, Frank! And of your 911's, I have to say the 69 is my favourite.
  12. Very cool! This is going to be one stunning woody! Kudos!
  13. Very cool Beetle! Good luck with the roof rack.
  14. Yeah, I thought Harry was planning on pulling up roots.
  15. Hot off the FedEx truck (literally) ? You robbed a FedEx truck?
  16. Absolutely beautiful build of that Triumph! Harry could almost use it in his Real or Model feature. Kudos.
  17. I'm usually thinking "If this dental hygienist jams that metal pointy probe in my gums one more time I'm gonna kill her…" Models are no where near my mind….. But you have a valid point in that they have some cool tools.
  18. Very cool! Neat take on the red, white and blue. Kudos!
  19. I have a CUV right now. It's a Honda CRV. Why do I have it? Cuz no one builds wagons anymore! (Caveat: Yes, I know Volkswagen does but that's a very limited choice… I can't afford a Cadillac if they still build theirs.) I drove a Focus wagon for years. Come time to replace it no choice but CUV's. I'm just too accustomed to the advantages of that big back area. I can't even begin to imagine living with the likes of a Mustang on a day to day basis. A two door like that would drive me right round the bend. A nice toy for summer maybe but not day to day transport….. But I'm weird that way…..
  20. I tried to resist but couldn't. By the end of the day I left NNL East with one. You will not be disappointed. It is a beautiful piece of work.
  21. Very cool, Chuck! I need to get another chopped coupe kit to get those parts for my MAD chopped woody.
  22. Oh for pity's sake! I was just using the term RX7 as a meaning that it looked more generic like a Japanese/Euro car. I could have said 350Z or what have you. It doesn't have the presence of the current car.
  23. I don't dislike this as much as the ugly new Corvette but it's still not as nice as the current version. This doesn't quite as much look like it was designed by a committee that couldn't agree on anything like the new Corvette. Take the ponies off and it could be the new RX7 or something. Has lost some of it's visual appeal. If I could I would take a 2012-2014 over this. But there again opinions are like everyone has one...
  24. Curses! Fooled again...
  25. Beautiful build on that Ferrari! Replicates the 1:1 really well. Kudos.
