  1. Welcome, Oscar. As you said, lots of good information here. Jump in & enjoy. It's a great hobby.
  2. I have to remember this line the next time my wife asks about a flea market purchase. Thanks Geoff! (Nice purchase by the way.)
  3. I received 2 sets from them. One set was in good shape but the other the whitewalls on 2 of the tires are damaged. I think I can touch them up. I appreciate Revell coming through on this for us.
  4. Oh, Kris! I know where some of my NNL East money will be going!
  5. Well, I got to meet Nick today. Great meeting you Nick! Also picked up a Tamiya Ford Focus Rally Car and a set of AMT M&H slicks.
  6. True, but what Jerry is saying is that if you use the Humbrol satin it seals it without being shiny and the part can be handled. Good tip.
  7. Great modified builds there, Mike! There's only one problem though.....they're too clean.

    '36 Ford

Very cool 36 Ford custom! Very well done.
  9. Indeed the HeritageCon 7 at The Warplane Heriatge Museum is a great contest. Keep in mind it is an IPMS type event so there are all types of models, sci-fi, armor, planes etc. Good mix of vendors too. Of course that's assuming you stop looking at the real planes long enough to check out the contest.
  10. Wow! That's just plain gorgeous, Jason! Great work!
  11. Very interesting info, Pat. I have some of the pearl-ex and was wondering how to work with it. Thanks for providing this tutorial.
  12. Indeed, Threw my back out shovelling yesterday. Thank goodness for Robax. 54 now. Remember 54 now. Ow!
  13. Happy Birthday Doctor Cranky! Hope you have a good one.Probably spending the day making more eye candy eh? Well, I have a week and 3 years on you as I turned 54 last week.
  14. I spend way too much time looking at everybody else's build here on the computer instead of getting out to the shop and working on my own models.
  15. Thanks, Glenn, I appreciate the info. Your first test sure makes them look good. I'll keep an eye out for these.
  16. Sorry for quoting the whole pic but was unsure how to cut it down. Anyway, what's the story on the Testor's Aztek Pearls? I've never seen Testors bottles like that before. Any info?
  17. I would be interested in the vintage stuff as well. There has been a need for awhile, well, basically since the roadster kit first came out.
  18. Very, very cool! My Dad was a Mosquito fan. I have the Tamiya kit here to be built some day. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Good start! Like you said the video quality is not the best but it's all a learning experience. Congrats and keep going.
  20. It's funny you say that, Chuck, as I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder as my reaction is that it looks dumpy (or flabbier) than the current model. I think the C6 looks meaner and more purposeful. Oh well....
  21. Got mine in the mail today. Which is WAY unusual for me to get it here in the Great White North at the same time you guys are getting yours. Normally I get it about 3 weeks or so later. Anyway it's looking like a really good issue. Thanks, Gregg, Harry and contributors.
  22. Unfortunately this is not a good thing especially after all the work to get it into places like Borders (chain book stores) as I doubt they would be too happy with magazines coming in with "stale" dates. One clerk might put it on the shelf and the one coming behind him sees a December date in January and yanks right back off the shelf thinking it has expired!? Fortunately I have a subscription so I just have to sweat it out waiting for it to arrive in the mail and hope I don't have to phone Denver Bell like I did twice last year.
  23. Welcome to the forum, Ray Hope you enjoy your stay. Lots of great model building being done.
  24. Welcome, Joe. Lots of good info available here. Look forward to seeing your builds. Nice to have another body from Ontario here. There's a few of us hanging around.
  25. Welcome, James. Sounds like you have your hands full. Build when you can and visit here often. Lots going on and lots of good info. Look forward to building with your son when he gets older.
