Thanks Bill. I know you've had your share of pain issues. I had had problems with my left knee a while back however this is even worse. The slightest movement on the knee is extremely painful. Just had to take a second pain pill to hopefully get some relief. Been shuffling around the house to keep moving some becuase it really hurts if I lay down and get up or sit in a chair for a bit. Hopefully the pain pills will help but I'm not a big fan of using them. First order of business will be giving my doctor a call this morning and maybe do a tele conference. At this point driving is out of the question becuase of the pain and pain pills.

My irk actually started on Monday. Noticed a bit of a twinge in my right knee. Usually it's the left. I managed to finish the job on it sleeping Monday to Tuesday. Had a couple of errands to do yesterday and it wasn't too bad. However this morning was a royal painfest. Took a strong painkiller and that seems to be helping. Was suppose to go to the doctor this am but I'm going to have to cancel as I can barely move around and getting in and out of the car is out of the question. Going to try to get some bench time but I also need to move some or it really hurts when I do get up. Also I will need to give my primary Doctor a call to see what I can do to keep this from getting a lot worse.

I'm building an entry for the 2025 Cannonball community build. The goal is to build an entry that could compete in the 1975 Cannonball. I choose the Johan Pro Stock Maverick which I belief is a 1971. The chassis is an old promo style plate which wasn't going to work. I looked at several kits and found that the Monogram 427 AC Cobra would work by stretching the chassis a little bit. I will be using the Cobra chassis, suspension, and wheels and tires. I'm also considering using the engine. This helps allot in assuring that this project will be done. photo1 is checking to see the frame works. Have a fresh kit to use for the chassis. Photo2 mockup with the tires. More to come.

2025 Cannonball Run - 50 years since the 1975 run.

OK I got some work done. I had an assembled Cobra frame to do a proof of concept. Next step will be finding wheels and tires next. I have another kit I will use for the chassis. Also I have an idea on the engine I will reveal latter. I decided to try the wheels and tires from the Cobra and have decided to use them. I think this is shaping up nicely. Next up will be the engine. -

Been looking for a better chassis for the maverick and found a great choice. Will be using the chassis from a monogram 427 Cobra. My Maverick will be the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing.. working to do a mockup shortly and will take some pictures. -
The problems with Rustoleum 2x with primer are two fold. One the nozzles are designed for spraying twice the volume of paint. Second when it says it's includes primer it means the solvent is hot to etch the plastic. There are better paints to use. However if you're going to use Rustoleum I would decant to to airbrush it.

Model building on youtube.

First off it's a hobby and everyone has the right to enjoy it in their own way. Where is it written that you have to constantly improve or do it in a specific way. Second I remember from the early days of Model Car Science and Car Model t here was no talk about worrying about production flaws such as ejection pins and parting lines. There were no real kit reviews. Also the only way you knew something about a kit was to buy. The what's in the box and build reviews are a valuable service and I'm happy that Hpiguy and others do. Personally I do not feel presumptuous enough to criticize how others build. -

Well said. One can choose to see the positive and negative in things. -

Well Hpiguy must be doing something right with over 100k followers. And the ultimate irony is to the average person his models are going to get the same amount of attention that the multi-year project because the average viewer isn't going to discern the difference. -

I don't see that youtube is a negative. I think it's more a reflection of how most people build. Youtube provides the means for people to share the hobby with others.. There will always be a broad spectrum of build styles. -

It's a hobby and everyone enjoys it in their own way. From varied building genres to varoious building styles. Some may build one model every several years, some every few weeks or less. Some may never complete a project becuase they 9nly enjoy mocking up an idea or enjoy one aspect of the build process. If the way you enjoy your hobby makes you happy that is what is important. -

Excuses are like belly buttons everyone has one. Failure to communicate always makes things more difficult than they need to be. -

I think it happens to all of us at some point in time. It's a hobby and not something you have to finish by a deadline. You will get your inspiration back. -

Amazing work on the front suspension. -
Although you could probably be compensated for the inconvenience I don't see that it would be worth your while. You.may get a judgement but may not be able to collect. And in addition you may have attorney costs that you would probably not get compensated for.
