I personally wouldn't use 2k clear it r really nasty. It requires more than a face mask. It can be absorbed through the skin and eyes so a suit is requires and a face msk are needed. A nice glossy finish can be achieved with lacquer with a little more work. You still need a good quality facemask.

We had a birthday party this weekend for my niece's husband. My great nephew who will be 7 on Halloween this year's l8kes to draw so I gave him some crayons and some paper for drawing. He decided to do some drawings of each of us and I was impressed that he has a knack for drawing what he sees. Second we had a party a couple of weeks ago for my sister. Instead of shoving a cell phone in his hand my niece has him draw or they play tic tac toe. I decided it would be fine to do a doodling game. I would add a shape and then he would add to the drawing. It was fun. I made a comment about how much fun it was and my niece said that he had wanted to play that game when they got home. I'm pleased it was a big hit. I thought it would be fun.

I think this is a gtrat illustration of the issues caused by mixing paint brands. My guess is that you may have painted the hood a little wetter and got the reaction. Staying with one brand of paint and paint type when painting.

Thanks for digging into this. I agree with your comment on this not being an outright ban . Contrary to what some want to believe Tamiya paints are not the focus of this moratorium. It just happens that Tamiya to use this chemical. I'm am curious what products use this chemical.

First off saying there is a ban is an overstatement. What is actually happening is a moratorium . There was a similar situation a few years ago with Tamiya having to change the labels on the spray cans and it was unavailable for a while. Sounds like a good time to buy and learn how to use an airbrush.

Good choice on not clearing. Can't see that it would have improved and potentially might have messed up a strategy paint job.
