  1. And they are the ones risking the money. I would love to see a full detail styrene Tucker hit and would buy 2 but realistically realistically that it would not generate enough sales.
  2. And if that is the way somebody wants to build and have a good time I see nothing wrong with it. The same person might wonder why anyone would spend months or years on a model. It's a hobby and we all enjoy it in different ways.
  3. Funny how everybody says they don't want to build more corvettes, camaros, and Mustangs and none of them are on that list!!
  4. The mistake of sending up a craft with issues presents another potential issue. The thruster failure could cause the starliner to crash into the ISS. Plus the unlocking sequence is meant to be manned and without the crew it will require possibly unproven software to handle the undocking. And a note of irony the starliner vehicle name Calypso was a Greek God who held a man captive.
  5. Room for rent at crazy acres hotels here check-in is midnight but you can never leave.
  6. All I know is without knowing what the cost are and the sales volume it cannot be determined whether there is a ROI. No company can afford to lose money or not it just that simple.get a ROI and stay in business.
  7. Just saw in the news that the starliner is returning without the astronauts and in a separate article the space x will be bringing them back next year.
  8. If just the body and interior is kept that means that the one piece glass would have to be kept and you wouldn't have the nice interior tub with separate side panels. However until someone can show the actual tooling cost and projected sales this is all meaningless speculation. I still think it's going to be hard to get a ROI.
  9. When I said new tooling I mean starting from scratch. Turning a promo chassis to mulipiece would be a challege. From hour round 2 example where would Johan get a detailed cha@is for the Roadrunner or for the Javelin.
  10. The advantage of doing new tooling would be allowing more than one version to be produced which would make a better opportunity for a reasonable return on investment. Although cloning might be cheaper I think it would be more difficult to generate the sales to generate a ROI.
  11. I would think the biggest issue would.be batt e Ryan life. My guess it's made for doing fingernails. Not sure how well it would work for painting model car bodies.
  12. If you look at Round2 has cloned they are subjects with a reasonably broad appeal. The GTO, Malibu, the Nova Wagon, and the Coronet. Can you really say that some of the Johan kits will have the same appeal. This discussion is meaningless without real world numbers.
  13. Sorry ebay prices are not an indication of sales. Two things must be determined. One what will the cost of cloning the kits be? Second what are the potential sales volume? Finally can there be a return on investment. If no it's not going to happen.
  14. Or buy lottery tickets. Just don't see that there's that much money to be made for such limited appeal niche kits.
  15. Several things are h happening with the post office. What Dejoy is doing the same most of the upper management is doing with most companies. Spending dollars to save pennies. Second is a change in mail volumes. When was the last time you wrote a letter. The volume of junk mail has been significantly reduced. More advertising is done on the internet. More companies are pushing for paperless billing.
  16. It's going toget even slower and cost more. Neither rain or sleet nor snow will stop the mail but Dejoy will.
  17. This is the best advice. One clarification is you want to use the Tamiya TF and TS paints and not the PS which Is for the lexan rc bodies.
  18. In addition in a lot of cases brick and motor stores are cutting back on selection and on line shopping is the only way to get things.
  19. I was having the same problem with my right hip. An sciatica like pain. It seems to primarily happen in the winter time. I usually sleep on my right side and usually wake up on that side.
  20. Days turn into nights and nights to days as time March's on.
  21. Nice save. Glad you took another shot at it.
  22. I would suggest trying the Tamiya thinner with the Tamiya paint and keep the mix ratio and spray distance the same. I believe that the paint is drying before it hits the model. Do you have a junk body to test it out with? I think that the hot lacquer got through the Tamiya primer in the original case.
  23. It's common sense and the return of elegant design. Bloated designs result in a higher probability of failure. If I have two parts with 99 percent reliability a unit with two parts is 98 percent and 3 parts is 97 percent.
  24. Woke up this morning with a pain in my left knee like someone shoved an ice pick into it. Also when it happens it get incorporated iinto a dream. I've got some arthritis in that knee and there is some position sleeping that triggers this. The weird thing is when I get up it goes away and I can walk with no issues. Wish I knew what the trigger is so I could avoid it.
  25. Amazing work. I always enjoy seeing all the neat fabrication on projects like this.
