  1. Your pics look fine tome..(I prefer them to Harry's sizing) The model is outstanding!
  2. Hasn't this already been discussed here? is that what you missed?
  3. "...if you ran an electric pusher fan forward of the radiator...which kinda ruins the whole effect in my opinion" and looks terrible to boot. I've never seen a sbf in a early Ford without cuttting the firewall either. Dennis' example is exactly right about an easy swap using a sbc and matches my experience exactly. Sorry Tim .

    Cobra Wagon

    very clever..nice job!
  5. Nice start but that's NOT a Model A.. it's 32 Ford (somtimes called a duece)
  6. Before they had modern tires...it was briefly the best way to increase weight transfer. Tire tech soon changed everything in drag racing. Those altered wheel base cars were the state of the art for 1965 but very quickly became obsolete.
  7. Yes Harry, 51 Chevys look much different than 53s.....the poster just doesn't know his Chevys
  8. Wally had a '53 Chevy converible. (an ultra rare 210 series at that!)...saw that episode just the other day.
  9. Small block Mopar..not a very realistic one if memory serves.
  10. nice job! looking forward to seeing the finished product....
  11. Will the windows fit in this one?
  12. "But if you're really interested, you can always check out my Fotki page." You and Paul have very similar taste in colors and subject matter...you would also love his collection of real cars. These discussions are always interesting..from some suggesting that the prices he gets are somehow fake to "I would never sell my work" , He makes a comfortable living as a professional model maker and 1-1 car restorer....I think that's pretty neat. ( I should add that we've been friends for 25+ years)
  13. You should see it in person...I wish Moebius would have him review the test shots and listen to his comments...
  14. Yep it's the end of "personal liberty"....and auto racing, if not life itself! Just ask a disinterested lobbyist. organization....
  15. speaking of "goofs" your link goes to the instuctions for thier awfull 914 kit....
  16. very nice!
  17. We had a 09 XB...ran and drove great but got very poor gas milage (geared too low and poor areo) and while it was trouble free it wasn't as well built as our previous Toyotas. Our new Camry gets far better milage (35+ highway vs 28) and is much better built and it only cost about $1200 more.
  18. AMT did a kit and a promo in 1968. The Modelhaus makes a very nice copy of the promo for $95 + shipping. These are 1/25th scale....
  19. looks great.
  20. Interesting...I can see the commercial use(unhidden)..I.still wonder if it was used in racing before yet unnoticed (?) I would think the bikes were weighed during inspection (maybe they didn't inspect them until now?) Thanks for the info Bernard...
  21. Electric or gas? Hard to imagine how it might work or how it could be concealed ( yes, I saw the scope they were using but..) Hope we learn more...I'd like to see this "motor" soon.
  22. I was thinking "bout the Merc...comparing it to a 'Mint model for example. The Merc is pretty simple to build (is what I should have said) it goes together quickly and easily and would not take an experienced commercial modeler more than a few hours to build a nice one, especially with practice. So I kinda doubt the workers are being exploited. I've no experience with the La Ferrari.
  23. 30 hours to build? I doubt that's the case..I could assemble mine without paint in about 2+ hours....adding paint would add another couple of hours. These are pretty simple kits but quality examples could be built fairly quickly assembly line style with skilled builders that knew how to build them... they live and work in the 21st century too, you know.
  24. If you loook at your link..it says plastic. Its a factory assembled and painted 1/24th scale model. You can also buy them unpainted and unassembled. It's a very nice kit..the best ever of this subject.
