I use Testors Dull Coat which I'm pretty sure is a lacquer..it dries virtually instantly.
Use a light coat of course,,it doesn't take much to do the job..it's a spray so I wouldn't assemble the wheels unless you want them dull coated too.
I've used this for years without any cracking issues at all..neither during assembly or with age (25+years).
Relax it's really easy to use
The one in the General section is for models only and the other is in the Off Topic section and it's for anything. It seems to be working...I,for one, like it this way.
Since you asked about painting letters and not about making whitewalls the cracking issue seems unlikely to me. I always dull coat my shiny black vinyl tires, never an issue with it cracking during wheel assembly or with age. .I think it would work just fine on clean tires.(or perhaps even better on dull coated tires).and it's.likely to be easily removed if you don't like the results.
Feasible? absolutely, if you have the skills to do it... it's a "Straight YES"! You'll have to make the nose/grille,hood,belly pans, hairpins, nerf bars etc and source the engine/trans and running gear to build a replica of that car.
you may want to google the kit..looks like there may have been 2 box art versions. one like yours sold on e-bay n June forr $19+ after only 2 bids. hopefully you got it real cheap (if you don't plan to keep it....)
Seems like a rather clumsy atempt to make a terrible car (real Sunbirds) "exciting"....doesn't work for me,nor did it work for Pontiac. I've never seen or heard of this kit though...
The Monogram 3 window kit (the lousy one based on the old 32 roadster) had great wide n wider Ford steelies (like in your pic) with 48 style hubcaps. Should be easy to find and cheap... recent Revell model As (not the new roadster) have big n little steelies with whitewall tires too which maybe easier to find but more $$. or the 53 F100 wheels could be modified to match those in your pic. as for baby moons...I'm drawing a blank for those.
As fun as being a kid was....I far prefer being an adult, I've been one for far longer than I was a child,so I've gotten to be pretty good at it.
my models are much better looking and far more satisfying now too.....
Might be quicker for you, I'm 3-4 hours(by truck) and at least 2 post offices from a major airport . Also when you place your order makes a difference (closed Sundays and on Japanese holidays) and if the products are in stock.
Since there are parts for the coupe already in the roadster kits and at least 2 finished test shots, I think we can be certain this coupe is coming. When is the question..
Replica and Minatures of Maryland does the curved air scoops (unplated) that look great! Among other things>>>http://public.fotki.com/crstan/replican-and-miniat/replicas-and-miniat/
