thats sweet -
I built this one totally box stock. Paint is model master Grabber green with testors wet look clear. This was my first time polishing a model with a polishing kit and I think it turned out decent, besides a couple spots where i sanded through. I forgot the flat black strip of paint on the hood, ill get back to it at some point.

I saw the paint on this and the only word that could come to mind would be blocked by this forum lol. Great job. -
This one looks great. black and white always is a good look for PD cars and the finish on yours came out great.

Polishing, With or Without Clear coat
kymdlr replied to kymdlr's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks gents. My rule is to never sand metallics period so a sufficent amount of clear on them before polish is understandable. I only use the testors /model master lacquers, duplicolor lacquers and tamiya lacquers. -
Ive been painting models for years now and am usually satisfied with simply clearing after my final coat and calling it done. Now I want to try a polishing kit, (the various sandpaper grits followed by rubbing compound / polish) . My question is, are yall seeing better results as far as quality / gloss of the finish when you polish with a clear coat applied over your color coat or should I just polish the color coat without applying clear?

Very clean build. Panther pink looks good on that cuda. What clear did you use?

Box Stock Revell Kit with the exception of Wheels & Tires from a Vette and I changed the exhaust and added tips. Paint is Testors "Toxic Orange" over black with their wet look clear. The Toxic orange is a close match to the factory "Sunset Orange" . Interior is 2 tone black and grey.

Looks perfect to me. Ive got a picture of the 1:1 in that year and yours looks dead on. I was thinking of doing one of their chargers.
-
Heres an interior I did on a charger. Radar display and remote. I really like the wiring you made to the MDT and the mini light.
-
I agree the wheels are oversized for this one, I really wanted to put SRT-10 Viper Wheels on it, but couldnt find any.
-
always thought the SRT8 Magnum was a sharp ride but this is it if Dodge offered it in the super bee option like the Charger. Paint is tamiya Yellow w/ flat black accents. I wasnt too sure about the yellow seats at first, but they have grown on me. I drilled out the Brakes and added wheels that are a little too large for this build, but they work for me. Added the Viper Motor just for kicks. I also re-imagined the front clip and added the spoiler.

Good looking build, i made one fairly close to that, except i went with the Vector lightbar. I like the vent visors on the side windows, very nice touch. Any interior pics?

that is one beautiful ride.

Got all the chrome done , Special thanks to bgrgbldr For the slam locks!. I made the side & front windows of the box from scrap plastic & window screen mesh. Its coming together slowly but surely.

Finally Got some color on the box, and got the foil work done. Once we get this rain gone from the area, im going to shoot some clear over it which may also take some of the shine from the foil away which would be a plus since the 1:1's chrome is nothing close to polished. After the clear, i need to make some decals for the box. & add the emergency lighting.
