  1. I remember the 1:1 of this car from the early 90's when the police department would use it as a display car at parades and various events around town. The technology at the time was advanced and I remember the doors would open automatically to full extention as well as the hood. The car also "talked" and would say phrases like "say no to drugs" stuff like that. Currently the car is in a museum, found it recently and decided to make a replica. I built it as curbside, shaved the door handles and made the decals myself. Thanks to jtalmadge for the wheels that I think match the 1:1 perfectly.
  2. Very Clean
  3. 71 is sharp
  4. thanks all. The silver is Testors one coat diamond dust.
  5. Unfortunately the pictures dont show the color very well. Its painted in Testor's one coat metallic purple w/ a coat of tamiya pearl clear followed up with regular tamiya clear. Polished it out to a great result in person. The decals gave me problems, but overall not a tragedy. The wheels and tires are aftermarket resin pieces.
  6. this is really cool
  7. My inspiration for this color and build are that I saw a 1:1 version of parked on the street. Revell Kit. Box stock except for the wheels and CF spoiler. Rubbed out and polished Testors paint w/ tamiya clear.
  8. super clean ride. good detailing all around.
  9. These are all sick!!
  10. Had this idea for a What if build. Florida highway Patrol used a lot of Camaro's in the 2000's and stopped when the last generation of Camaro ceased production. This build was to show if they continued their signature black n' tan paint scheme on the current gen. Camaro. I used the AMT snap kit, which when complete looks more toy-ish than the Revell kit would. Due to the lack of engine I was able to do a first for me which was adding working LED's. Didnt turn out too bad for a first time, but it was for sure a learning experience for the next time I decide to do it. This was a prototype, I will probably build a better version one day. I know the mirrors are missing, they are back in the spray booth. Curbside build, but added a few interior details such as the radar unit. 11. Good stuff in this thread, here are a few of mine.
  12. Impressive! good color choice as well.
  13. The LAPD camaro Was one of the first kits I ever built probably 15 years ago. That picture brings back memories. Id love to find the kit again.
  14. Thanks. I realize the wheels are not everyone's flavor but didnt have too many options in the parts box. I think the wheels came from hoppin hydros or pegasus.
  15. Had this idea for a little while and went with it. Model Master Sublime & Testors Clear which was rubbed out and polished. Wanted a small amount of chrome so the bumpers are body color. Added the body color viper motor and wired it up. After seeing the Rallye Wheels from Zman on another members Cuda, I think they would have been fitting but I already had these. The T/A decals I used were several years old and are cracking in some places so it was a challenge to get them on. I plan on painting the side marker lights. Lowered it as much as possible and this is the end result.
  16. sharp. wheel color choice sets it off for me.
  17. Yes. Love it.
  18. The LED print outs are a great idea. Kit looks great, I was debating on using that exact lightbar on a kit, you made it fit well. Did you have any trouble with attaching the front clip? I had soo many problems with mine.
  19. Thank you all for your comments. This is one of my favorite builds. If I come across another Challenger Kit Im going to make another without the trouble of opening the door this time!
  20. Thank you all for the comments. After looking back at this thread, I have corrected a couple things that I noticed were off with the build. When I get a chance I will post updated pictures.
  21. I had seen one on that show as well, i believe it was somewhere in GA. Hard to find any reference pictures of one via google. Thanks Sarge. If you have any pictures of them I would love to see.
  22. Created a Maryland State Police impala. Fictional Model based on one that would have been seized from a drug trafficker. Built mostly stock except a few dress up items on the motor. Scratch built the radar antennas on the front and rear deck. Scratch built the front dash rotater style light with the flash shield behind it. since this is a car that would have been used in the 90s it would not have any of the current LED style emergency lighting. Im still debating on adding a light bar or not.
