  1. Thought so. I decided I didn't care about the clear body so got the Japanese market version.
  2. If I recollect, the overseas version has an optional clear body so you can see the detail.
  3. Thanks. It was mutual. Thank you!
  4. Just a couple of weeks back I was looking into shipping a kit to Britain. The package was 3 lbs weight and the lowest USPS rate was about $35. Other options like FedEx and UPS were obscene. I talked with the PO manager and she said, at the moment, costs to Europe are high unless you have a corporate rate package (in essence volume shipping). So, I guess that says individual shippers pay to cover those getting the discount.
  5. I use the same technique and it works reasonably well
  6. Many times. Tom Carter is very honorable and reliable.
  7. Had quite few interesting cars, including this year’s AMBR and Ridler winners. Follow the link to the album https://www.flickr.com/photos/142581265@N08/albums/72157677661047163
  8. That looks interesting as well
  9. Tom, I think all the Renwal stuff is Revell, not Round2. But, I see people buying the reissues, especially if cleaned up. With over 700 still left in the stash, I usually won't buy a reissue unless it has something that isn't in the kit I already have. And, then I will unload the older kit.
  10. Forgot to add, if you decide on the coil pack anyway, VCG Resins sells them as separate pieces and you could buy as many as you need.
  11. I do not have the Diablo GT kit as I don't care for the Diablo or Countach. But, it appears the nub of the plug assembly is on the engine. If it protrudes enough, you should be able to drill in an angle and use it. It would be a lot work to use the 2010 LS engine coil parts and you would need 2 engines (2 sets of covers) to get what you want to do.
  12. You don't have coil packs like modern GM engines, but wiring harnesses that include, spark and fuel management, among other things. These will run back to a control module. Here is a single plug connection: To simulate these on a Ferrari SA Aperta: I drilled into the cap molded on the valve cover (much like the Diablo GT has). I used a combination of ignition wire, thin heat shrink, thin guitar string and thin Pro-Tech braided lines to simulate the effect. Since the Aperta control module was not visible, I only had to get the harness to an area where it would approximately be and not worry about finishing connections on that end. You'll need some good photos of the engine area to get a representation of the effect. It will take some time, but the result is worth it. 13. IHOBBY (RCHTA) is "DEAD" Not doing anymore at this time and foreseeable future. NY Toy show has not had kit manufacturer stuff or announcements for over a decade, if I remember correctly. Social media is where to look for a lot of announcements today. Revell will be announcing Q2 2017 in about a month and Round2 filters the stuff out as well.
  14. Jeremy's stuff is TOP NOTCH!!
  15. I had a chance to have a conversation with Revell yesterday and THEY WILL ANNOUNCE when they are ready. So, until they announce, this stuff is mainly a waste of time to me.
  16. One thing I do, whether I clear it or not is polish the BMF before applying to get what appears to be an oxidation layer off of it. When I polish it, a black gunk comes off on the polishing cloth and the BMF looks much brighter.
  17. Yes it can. I have done it and it does not lose its luster. Now, I have only used lacquer paints, both mainly Testor. This model had its BMF clearcoated
  18. Mine is in the basement stash soon to go to Portland Oregon to a deserving friend, Dave Fletcher.
  19. The closest I have seen:
  20. Didn't AMT have some German Helmets as extra parts in some of their 60's cars? If yes, Would they be too big?
  21. These are Model Car Garage that I have had in the aftermarket stash for quite some years. They worked well with the American Satco wide whitewalls I used on the kit as the tires are wider. The only glaring problem (to me) is that there is no opening for a valve stem and they are full wheel covers. So I drilled each and ran a wire through to simulate a valve stem. Also polished them using Wenol metal polish.
  22. After having a problem with the Flintstone Sedan Delivery body, I put this back on the shelf. I pulled it back off in December to try and do something with it. Since I had already modified the interior for a sedan delivery, I decided to make this a custom shop wagon such as would be at a car show. A benefit is it made the interior mods more visible. Since I still had the original body, I did a mild customization to it and painted it Testor’s Electric Pink Lacquer covered with Wet Look Clear. For the interior, I used parts bin seats and detailed with: seat belts; used model railroad nails for door locks; and added some gear to the cargo area. Engine was fully detailed out with wiring and plumbing. I used the now out of business Detail Junkee’s air cleaner and valve cover PE set to dress up the engine and added some additional PE and a non-working dipstick. Chassis detail included fuel lines, brake lines and an emergency brake. I used the Molotow Liquid Chrome markers to touch up BMF and chrome tree parts. Still need to add the exhaust tips and that is that for this one.
  23. Okay. Here is the test shot we saw at our GTR November 2016 meeting. Sorry a couple are blurry. This one CANNOT BE BUILT STOCK.
