  1. Well I just got a notice from Hobby Link Japan that the Pagani Huayra is in and in my Private Warehouse. Time to get that and the rest of the stuff in there out from Japan
  2. The manifold area appears way too wide for a Small Block Chevy. Is that truncated cone at the back of the manifold supposed to reflect a distributor or magneto? Could it be an Olds engine from some early AMT kit?
  3. Nice. But I am thinking of homage to this one:
  4. He does quality work. I have a couple of his engine kits
  5. Some AMT annual kits had it as an option. Finned drum brakes too. The AMT 64 Impala came with it. I do not think the 63 did.
  6. I haven't checked, though I have both unbuilt in the stash. But I wonder how close the C5R suspension is to the C6R? The C5R kit is more detailed out of the box.
  7. I know you asked Casey, but I went down to the stash and checked. I have the Studio 27 PE set and it fits over the Tamiya rear "grill" panel but NOT over the Revell of Germany. In both the Tamiya and RoG kits, that piece is clear plastic with the PE part supposed to fit over. It does on the Tamiya, but does not on the RoG. I would suppose it would be the same on the Hobby Design set (which I do not have). Hope this helps
  8. It has been a while since I looked at these, but my recollection is that the Tamiya is a bit crisper then the RoG. Let me pull them out and take a look see. Do you want photos of the Tamiya content? Or will this work for you? Tamiya F50 contents and instructions
  9. I thought that was a possibliity given it is a two part system. That might be OK for a larger part, but not sure how something like that would work on small parts in 1/24 or 1/25 scale
  10. Has anyone yet tried this? https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/xtc-3d/ I have not yet as the Shapeway stuff I have gotten is in pretty good shape. But for future use I am thinking I will experiment with after we move
  11. Japanese manufacturers (Aoshima, Fujimi, Tamiya, Model Factory Hiro, etc.) are primarily 1/24 scale. Trucks are often done 1/32. The Revell/Monogram F50 is a reboxed Revell of Germany F50. Revell of Germany autos and trucks are primarily 1/24th scale except those they rebox from Revell USA which are mainly 1/25 Most Japanese Formula 1 are 1/20 while Revell of Germany does 1/24. I have the Tamiya, Revell of Germany and Revell USA F50's still in the box if you want more info
  12. Went to the 2016 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals yesterday. A lot of interesting cars as always. I was merrily snapping away photos, including a lot of Broncos to help any modeler interested in the new Revell kit. Then I got a low battery warning and realized my backup battery was at home because I recharged it after the Butch O’hare show and forgot to include it in the camera case. So I wound up taking a lot less photos than I had planned. Anyway, here is the link to the show photo album Show Photo Album...
  13. I had the opportunity to once again attend the Butch O’Hare Chapter IPMS Model Contest on Saturday, November 11. It was a great event with about 350 entries across the various categories. Additionally, several clubs had display tables showing examples of their work. There also was a large vendor area with a lot to be had. I had the chance to photograph a lot of the models on display and have included them in the linked Album. https://www.flickr.com/photos/142581265@N08/albums/72157676579610726
  14. Sorry for the delay, but was quite busy the past two weeks. We took a short trip to visit some friends and passed through Saint Louis Missouri. Near where we stayed, there was a transportation museum owned by the county plus we came across some people doing a weekend cruise (last of the season they said). https://www.flickr.com/x/t/0094009/photos/142581265@N08/sets/72157665071904039/
  15. Both First Quarter, the Foose being late in the quarter. Supposedly, the other Foose kit, the Cadillac will be late 2017 and they have another new tool for 2017 (with no specifics). As I understood the conversation, their 2017 tooling budget is sewn up as well as some of 2018.
  16. Revell showed up at our November GTR meeting and brought along some test shot materials. Unfortunately, I only had my cellphone camera to take some shots, so the quality is less than desired. First is the recently announced 66 Suburban. Revell brought body parts for review: Second is the box art model for the Foose 56 Ford pickup. This model is a new tool based on the actual “CUSTOM” truck and is not stock nor has any stock parts. All of the body parts reflect the changes done to the actual truck:
  17. The AMT Riviera or could use the Revell 63 or 64 Chevy's which have decent X-frames. Offhand not sure if need to tweak the trunk area or not. Would need to check that out.
  18. Instructions say yes plus a weight belt. I'd have to go down to the stash to confirm it.
  19. Well, a fire extinguisher was included . But it could have been cans of soda
  20. Here is the page from the original MPC release, showing optional parts (courtesy of Drastic Plastics) site. The flippers were thermoformed rubber and the six packs are there as well. Optima batteries did not exist at that time AFAIK, so my guess is they are six packs of beverage. The flippers were not in the Model King reissue a few years back with the boat.
  21. Why are you calling it Monogram when that is an AMT box in the background?
  22. Normally I stay away from making comments on something like this but in this case
