  1. Thanks Gregg. Looks interesting. I have a preorder with HLJ on this one.
  2. Seems so. I have limited interest in Ford Cobras, but do have a couple to build, including HRM's Daytona Coupe.
  3. Hobby Search has a lot of kit instructions and box contents in their catalog. Some older kits only have box cover. A good source to check to see if there is info there to help your buying decision.
  4. You're right. I got that kit years ago and then traded it off.
  5. Just found the instructions. I couldn't say from the chassis where it fits. But this may help you: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10030739
  6. You are right on. I do not think this was ever updated to a correct 289 racing engine. I was told by a Cobra enthusiast that the body/chassis is reasonably correct for a 298 racing cobra. But the engine is wrong.
  7. The Racing White has a yellow tinge to it, giving it a warmer coloration. I have it for the 289 LeMans Cobra but have yet to use. But here is a web shot of a person's Tamiya Jag Mark II in the color: TS26 is a pure white and was used by me on this 56 Delray: HTH
  8. Not the ones on the test model which would mean you couldn't open the trunk
  9. Revell stated at the IHOBBY interview that the bumper guards would not be there on the released model. That was back in early October.
  10. I have one sitting downstairs, but it is still sealed. I guess if you really need it, I can open it up and check it?
  11. I wimped out since it appeared too busy already, so I decided to flat white the ragtop. My intent on the wood paneling was to do as you mentioned.
  12. To me, they are works of art and reflect the personality of the owner and restorer. I can relate to both correct restoration or updated. Rarity and provenance of a particular vehicle do come to mind as considerations. There are genres that do nothing for me, but I can still respect the work done and attention given to them. In today's world, I would have a tendency toward reliability, safety and consistent performance as benchmarks. Again, rarity/provenance taken into consideration. For example, I would rather have a modern, clean burn motor, better suspension, brakes and tires, but not on an original documented COPO Camaro.
  13. Dupage swap meet this Sunday. No contest, but usually lots of stuff you can't live without unless you have 800+ unbuilt in the basement stash like me.
  14. Welcome Derek. If interested, there are three Model Car Clubs in the Chicago, two of which may be too distant to travel as they meet in Crystal Lake. The third, Lake Michigan Model Car Club meets in Bensonville and has some members coming from Northwest Indiana, Frankfort and environments.
  15. Michael Kerns? Michael Kerns? Where have I heard that name before?
  16. The 57 is supposedly due in June if the dock strike does not interfere. Best info I can get at this point.
  17. Just logged in and everything looks fine. Can you see this picture: Depending on browser, you may want to delete history and cookies and then try again. Can't be more specific without knowing more what happened.
  18. Tower Hobbies is the retail arm of Hobbico which owns Revell.
  19. A very quick glance I had supports Tim's reply of a Turbohydro. But it was a very quick glance.
  20. They will be shortly available.
  21. I second that. It was a cool concept car.
