  1. Well that is pretty darn cool. I had no idea. Not much need for one where we run the a/c in December.
  2. Wow. An unarmed version of that would be awesome for...well, I'm not sure who. I guess hermits who live in the arctic is a pretty small market segment. But still, a snowmobile with an enclosed cabin is a pretty nifty idea. I'll bet they would be a huge hit at ski lodges or other winter vacation areas.
  3. So my brother and I took Mom to a nice steakhouse for Mother's Day. I had a medium rare ribeye with fries, okra, and some French onion soup (oh my gosh I love that soup). The fries were on the same plate as the steak. I was getting kind of annoyed that the fries were getting steak juice on them, so I started to put them on a separate saucer. I tried one and WHOA. You GOTTA TRY fries with some steak juice. Oh wow. Forget ketchup. I wish I could order a little bowl of steak juice in the future. Only so much comes out of one steak. Ok. Now back to our regular programming.
  4. Jo-Han's model of this bad boy: Original issue, unbuilt. I do love those coachbuilt classics.
  5. 48. Been building since 5 or so.
  6. How about the Italeri M923 wheels and tires? I don't know what diameter you're after. I have this kit at home. I can measure the tires later on, if you want.
  7. If the Tamiya Jaguar MkII Saloon has a good one, I can part with one. Found a great deal on that kit a while back and bought 3 for parts.
  8. Yeah I was thinking you owned the Rolls and Duesenberg.
  9. That twin engine street rod was at the recent Lone Star Roundup in Austin. It now has a '32 Ford roadster body. It was part of an Amsoil display that included a Harley Davidson with 4 engines and an old Ford pickup (their equivalent of the Dodge A100) with the bed cut off and four supercharged Ford DOHC 4.6 engines. All kind of silly, IMHO.
  10. Let's see the Duesenberg. Oh yeah- nice work on the Rolls. I love those pre-war coachbuilt classics.
  11. A vacuum formed copy will have very soft detail for those vents. Polishing will also soften the hard lines. IMHO, your time would be better spent looking for a replacement kit part. Put an ad in the wanted section. You never know what might turn up. I just sent off 3 packages to other members of this site, and I still need to get one sent out to Ace Garage-Guy.
  12. Nice work. What did you use for the back corners and back wall of the roadster cab? Was it sheet styrene or kit parts? It's a really nice looking model. Very impressive.
  13. That looks really nice. It makes me wonder about the same idea with a closed cab. I'm curious, though. Was the word "Phantom" used back that far? No criticism at all, I'm just fascinated by slang and its history. Thanks. Lee
  14. A tackle box. I'm going to post a comparison of 3 large tackle boxes that are in current production. I have 2, but need to get the third. I don't need that many. I ended up with 2 and the third will be a gift. I have a 2-drawer filing cabinet under my workbench. It has hanging files, to organize Evergreen strip styrene.
  15. Eh. It's only 4 years old. Rebuild it. It's not like digging out a build from 40 years ago.
  16. Yes. Also a good reason to use a descriptive thread title.
  17. A descriptive thread title is always helpful.
  18. I thought the I.A.D. Alien was a cool concept car back in the '80s. There's a Hot Wheels car available.
  19. Oh. I have 2 or 3 of the new Revel kit. Didn't even notice that there is no hood.
  20. Why not a Revell hood?
  21. Also- I have a glue bomb 1/8 Lotus that could be used for suspension and transaxle. Would not put a Cosworth DFV in a street car model.
  22. I wish I had magazines going back that far. I tried searching the internet but I am obviously using the wrong terms. I can't right-click at Instagram and have google search for that photo to gather more information. It would make a cool model, but it would also be a way to have a wild roadster with leg room. Something that could be driven on long rod runs (if it would be allowed to join in. I know it doesn't fit into standard categories for hot rods).
  23. Does anyone have any information on the Model T/F1 hybrid car under construction in that Instagram link? I couldn't get any information with a right click. It looks pretty wild. Wondering if it ever got finished. Thanks. Lee
  24. You have my condolences. It is always hard to lose a loved one.
  25. Why not? It's his car, he can do whatever he wants to with it. I think it's kind of cool. I think it would be cooler as a street car, but that's just my opinion. I would love to find a '60s or '70s Cadillac that has been turned into a pickup or station wagon.
