VRM Midget decals review and teaser pic
LDO replied to VRM's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have a suggestion: don't sell yourself short. At 21 bucks a sheet, with markings for 6 cars and some generic numbers and sponsor decals left over, that's a bargain. Who else sells such nice decals for $3.50 a car? Man, this makes me want to buy a couple of those midgets. -
Ian- Let me know if you need any parts and what their numbers are. I have 2 of these that will one day be pro/street cars. No need for stock engines/tires/etc.

The airframe of that missile would make a cool land speed racer. -

Mark Gustavson. Not only does he have a great sense of style, his magazine articles and book showed lots of people how to customize their own model cars. -

Awake for 4 1/2 days?! My record is 3 days and 6 hours, and that was because I was in the Army and had no choice. -
That stretched Deora hauler sure is wild.

Somewhat off-topic: I got two kegs that way. I was in a junk yard looking for a part and saw a keg in a car. Turned there were two. It was wrecked and the owner didn't clean out the car beforfe it was towed in. I once picked up a keg in my '88 Mustang. It was too heavy to wrestle into the back seat and I didn't want it to roll around in the hatch area, so I put it in the front passenger seat and put the seat belt on. I got thumbs up from several peope who saw it

In "Forensic Files", they ALWAYS use the wrong cars for reenactments.

Or get some plastic rivets. You can get lots of different sizes from Tichy Train Group. If you want chrome, go with Cranky's idea and use push pins. Just get wire cutters and snip to length.

I think it's annoying that a lot of polishing kits skip over 3600 grit. Some even skip over 1800. The last time I got one, it didn't have a foam sanding block. GRRRR! Anyway- some internet searching turned up a Micro-Mesh Woodworker's Kit. It has 2 of all grits, even going down to 1500, plus a sanding block. One place offered it for $57.76+ shipping. Not a bad deal, but still spendy. More searching turned up a kit with one each of everything for $21.99. I just ordered 2 of them. I don't know if I can mention a vendor's name on here, but a brief search for "Micro-Mesh Woodworker's Polishing Kit" will find it for you...although, I did buy the last 2 in stock at that place Still, a good deal for your money.

Obscure Kits You Never Knew Were Made...Until Now
LDO replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wonder if that was issued when "Daktari" was on TV, and called a hunting jeep in order to avoid paying royalties? (wrong vehicle, too, but hey) I watched that show as a kid. I'm guessing in reruns, but I was a kid. -
I have a friend who worked at UT Austin. He was working on the drain for a dorm building. They had posted notices saying don't flush between X and Y times, so of course everyone flushed while he had the pipe cut open. Eh. I woulda done the same LOL

You don't KNOW how bad I want to do that and send my boss a picture. I picked up the new Chrysler kit today at the LHS. Yes, I'll spend 4 bucks more at the LHS just because I like having an LHS. I'm also picking one up for a buddy in New Zealand.

A quick Google search makes me think it was likely this one. I do love some lead sleds, and when I saw this car, I thought that just screams Richard Zocchi. Sure enough... (edit). Two great pics I found just won't post here. It was built by Richard Zocchi. I love that grille, too I just found out it's a Chrysler Windsor, though. I need to make a new title for this thread...Meh. I'll just gather photos and break out the razor saw and putty.

I just may. I'm a plumber, btw. My new boss said he wants me in a work van "the MOMENT" the drug screen results come back. He said giving 2 weeks' notice is the right thing to do, but he needs me in a truck now. I've asked a couple of friends to write "I'm outta here" on me <ahem> in a spot that I can't reach, but no takers so far.

I'm so excited. I just can't hide it... Anyway- I'm leaving a job that has been a nightmare and going back to the company where I was laid off 2 years ago. I'm so happy to be leaving my current job. I can hardly put it into words. I'm even going back making more than when I left. I just feel so lucky. No job is perfect, but it's hard to imagine a job worse than the one I'm leaving. Life is great!

I know it was in August. Was it 2009 or 2008? I'm thinking 2009...so 2 years and 8 months ago.
