  1. for what it's worth department ..... doesn't everyone "there" have the same common interest as everyone "here"? why the polarization? how about TRAK, scale motorcars, vintage drag, et cetera? are those sites no good because they don't publish a magazine? forums are different than magazin home pages. we're all in the hobby for the same reasons, give or take!
  2. never built one, but i thought JoHan had clear bodies. paint inside for 'flake, outside for smooth
  3. i would imagine with Spectra thread and a knurled drum it might last a while. after the first 30 times, how often will it be used? and if someone is building with this degree of sophistication, it's only a matter of time before they move on to other, more elaborate, things.
  4. anybody have luck with Mr Surfacer 500 or 1000?
  5. AND the metalflake paint jobs!
  6. nice
  7. some free shipping, some token charge, but i always figure gas & my time are worth something. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_seeall_32?rh=k%3Ahobby+styrene%2Ci%3Atoys-and-games&keywords=hobby+styrene&ie=UTF8&qid=1341970032
  8. could you share some details? body, engine, anything? great looking; thanks
  9. these fellows did have some skills. and let's not forget guys that brought us great kits. Bob Paeth comes to mind.
  10. and if you're older, before 7-11's!
  11. regardless of what you build - or call it - modeling isn't about money. imagination, creativity and craftsmanship are where it's at. pm if you need a kit to build (my choice!) - and don't forget to post progress shots.
  12. that is so subjective! but traditional is a good foundation regardless of your taste.
  13. Motor City has an "almost" Divco - http://www.motorcityresincasters.com/mcrci.htm Resin Motor Replicas has some coe's - http://rmrresin.webs.com/nf125.htm
  14. general rule of thumb is to paint lighter colors first
  15. maybe the avatar with the guy holding the gun has something to do with the way it came across? i don't think it is a positive representation of forum fauxthority.
  16. plastic, resin, & brass? only modeling tools for me.
