  1. Polished with some Autosol Comparison so far. Dug out the all the rims and removed the valves as it will make polishing easier and will scratch build some new better detailed valves. Drilled 1.5mm holes for replacement valves to locate into, all 4 are currently in the GP thinners overnight and will be stripped and cleaned tomorrow.
  2. Goes to show that with a bit of imagination, creativity and skill a simple kit can be turned into something fun and really cool. Very well done, looks great.
  3. Issue 2 Issue 2 parts After seeing Mr Obsessive's build , I liked what he did with wheels to make them look more like the 1:1's. So I thought id use the spare wheel to practice on before doing the 4 roller's. That way if I mess up and it dont work I can hide it in the boot/trunk. So dug out the parts from issue 64 which is the spare wheel. Dunked the wheel in some GP thinners, to strip the paint. Worked a treat and was easily removed. Then used a steelo pad to clean it up to this stage. Next will give it a polish.
  4. At the moment I can only say the quality of the parts is very good and I did thoroughly inspect all after getting each issue. I guess fitment and construction will be determined along the way of the build. Yeah followed Bill Geary's build and will be using some of the things I learnt from his wip thread. Yep its going to very weighty for sure. Going to be a monster compared to everything else ive built.
  5. Stocked up on an essential item, think im set for life LOL!
  6. Issue 1 complete, with added grille from issue 4. Used decanted Tamiya TS-6 Matt black on the grille's.
  7. 1/8 scale. Here is a comparison to 1/25 body
  8. Issue 1 has the lower grille which il paint matt black. And the main grill is in issue 4 Issue 4 parts. So got both grille's out of each issue. Gave them a quick scuff with some sanding sponge. And etched primed.
  9. So I collected/purchased the magazine parts for near on two years and had it all stored away waiting for the last issue. Well that was over two years ago. Now its all taking up valuable space in the hobby room. So I need to get it built and thought do a wip thread to share something different and hopefully keep me motivated. Wont be straying from far the instructions and what's provided. Just some paint detail and maybe some small added details. Dont want to get carried away, just get it built. Im sure most are aware of what this is and have seen it before, so il just show a pic of what issue im working from and pic's of progress as it gets built. Over view of all the parts
  10. Oh no ! it's the grammar Please for forgive me, I've gone back and done and an edit to F T F Y.
  11. Thank you very much Tim for sharing the details of this up and coming release. As mentioned in the other thread im not much of a Gasser fan, but this kit has sparked my interest and looks to be a fun build. That engine is just too cool. Soon as the kit is available for pre-order in the US I will be on to it for a couple.
  12. All hail !! the righteous ones have spoken Jokes aside, thank you very Tim for taking the time share this up and coming release. Not much of gasser fan myself, but il most definitely be purchasing a couple of this kit. Looks to be a very fun build.
  13. Another Nova kit. Got some of this Chrome paint to try out. And some super nice vinyl decals. Also got some more paint, supplies and tools from my favourite online shop in Australia, BNA Model World. The MFH nut and bolt set blows my mind how they machine stuff this small. And as with most of my BNA orders some display cases always seem to fall in the cart.
  14. Do a search for Model Factory Hiro adhesive cloth for seat.
  15. Another option is Tamiya XF-56 Metallic Grey. Not dead flat, but looks the part on exhaust manifolds. And LP-61 would be near on the same maybe a shade darker.
  16. I have a thing for Nissan Skylines so just another version with engine detail for the stash/collection. Also got some Gundam Metallic Markers to try out on my Gunpla builds, and will be able to use the Chrome type on the Auto's as well.
  17. Two very clean detailed builds, well done.
  18. I find it hilarious that this discussion is still ongoing. I have nothing worthy to post as im sure my contribution will be debated that my opinion doesnt matter LOL!
  19. Its certainly interesting to see who participates the most in these types of discussions.
  20. Well said mate, certainly explained it from a different perspective.
  21. 100% agree. Pretty much summed it all up perfectly. Very well said, thanks for putting in to words I wouldnt have been able to come up with. What ever keeps you entertained I guess, some prefer the discussion. Each enjoy it in their own way. Most of us have fun, fun, fun building something and sharing what we have been up to. Well thats my reason for coming to this forum to share and observe model cars being built.
  22. Couple more for the stash/collection.
  23. The Supra seems to build up nice too, from what ive seen. I cant resist when it comes to a JDM kit with an engine.
