Progressing well on the interior, starting to take shape. Keep at it.

Cant say ive seen many of these built, good to see something different.

I really dont like painting metallics and pearls, as I am not very good applying them especially with an airbrush. Thats why I like to paint everything black, but that gets boring and there are some very nice colours out there. Thats what the 57 is all about, experimenting, learning and doing something other than black. Got it painted, I was worried about the texture on the trim from the pearl, so masked it before applying the paint. Got a bit of pebbling on the trunk near lower window trim, and few here and there. Oh well, live and learn. Will wipe some of when fully dry and hope to bury the rest in the clear. Cant wait to see this cleared and in the sunlight.

Applied the TS-24 today, got some issues with the roof, hood and bed. So going to colour sand and apply another coat.

Tires look really good, wheel chocks are a great idea. That you are. Generally if you can learn one trade, it's not that difficult to learn another.

It goes to show the products, tools and skills you use and have developed building Gunpla easily transfer over to the Auto's. Nice job detailing the brakes. Keep at it, look forward to the next update.

Not really into muscle cars and I find factory stock dead set boring. But I can certainly appreciate the time and skill involved to produce such a thoroughly detailed model car. Well done and congratulations Steve. You da man

Yep, world has too many pretenders.

Not much of an update, applied white base coat. Used Gaianotes paint which is excellent. High gloss, fast drying, very durable. Thinned 1:1.5 and used the Vision with .38 @ 25psi.

Thanks David, removed them for something different. And thanks for sharing that info of how they did it on the 1:1's back in the day.

Lots of variables to cause the pebbling. Probably not thinned enough, shot to far away from the surface. Psi bit low around 20 be a good place to start. 1:1 is the go with lacquer paints, primers and surfacers 1:1.5 Airbrush and needle size would be good to know as well.

Surprising how good it looks with those 350Z wheels, good idea using them.

Yeah can see where you are coming from. Some parts would be quicker and simpler to scratch build. Thats the benefit of being an all rounder like yourself you can pick and choose what skills to use where and when.

Pretty cool idea, something different other than the usual Ecto or hearse. Sometimes the ideas cant wait and need to stray from other builds to suss out fresh idea's. Happens to me all the time LOL!

Done a bit of rough body work, flattened the hood and removed the rockets and also flattened the entire side trim. Then wet sanded everything from 600-2500 with Infini sanding sponge. And applied another coat of 1500 gray surfacer. Im hoping one more round of wet sanding to tidy up the rough spots where I got lazy, another coat of 1500 surfacer, a final round of wet sanding and should be good for paint. Thats a spot of 500 surfacer on the headlight surround, chasing a pinhole thats giving me grief. Also a few other spots of 500 here and there but not as noticeable as that one

Was liking the blue in the wip thread, but the change to this colour combo does get ones attention and so does that engine. Done well.

Can relate to collecting more than building. But thats half the fun when passionate about this hobby. Liking your approach to getting back into building and what you have on the bench. Look forward to seeing more of the Supra and Silvia, like what you have going on with them so far.
