  1. Tuff looking beast for sure. Like how you blacked it all out, looks very sinister.
  2. Small update on my builds. Well its only taken 5 months to get some paint on the 65 Impala ,have been waiting for the weather to warm up over here and be a perfect day to apply the paint. Also got the 67 Chevelle painted.
  3. Thats great Junior, well done. And it would have be a nice moment for you to have received comments from 1:1 riders.
  4. Cool vid Doc, Now that you have explained in more detail the design for the paint,im even more looking foward to watch it evolve.
  5. Its real nice to know my build provided some inspiration for your build Doc. I certainly get lots of inspiration and have learnt alot from you. So as you say inspiration is a 2 way street. Cant wait to see some progress pics and im especially looking foward to seeing the paint job
  6. Thanks for the additional comments,as always they are much appreciated. The following parts all had Alclad chrome applied to them. chassis/frame, oil pan, transmission pan, rocker covers, valley cover, inlet manifold, air filter covers, top of radiator and horns.
  7. Nicely done Junior, turned out real good.Hope it does well at the auction. Cool idea for the air cleaner. Your more than welcome for the detail pics mate, glad they helped you out. Extra detail work looks good and right from where im sitting.
  8. Stink eye Looks real good James. For pics,I just use a mini tripod, set the timer and use macro on the camera.
  9. Well I must say ive been slack and not commented or posted in this topic for quite awhile. My apologies. But it is good to see its still an active C.B with some good builds in progress. Ive still have a 65 Impala in progress for this C.B and im hoping to complete it soon. I just started a new Lowrider build and figured id post it up in here. Amt 67 Chevelle. Still in the verly early stages,so far ive set the ride height, removed the A pillar vent windows and started smoothing out the body. Being that I wanted the ride height so low, it had to be built as a curbside. And yes it will be Black
  10. Great start so far Robert. Good job on all the mods, really look foward to watching this progress. (Im currently side tracked with a few car builds,so once they are done il get back to working on the Peterbilt)
  11. Killa paint on this build Paul. And yeah I believe you about no polishing.
  12. Thanks for the additional comments fella's. Ah,ok thanks Donn Yost for sharing the use of Pearl-Ex when doing paint jobs Yeah, its one of those type of paint jobs that is hard to take pics of,and is much better in person. Um, yeah I think you said it enough Danno
  13. Really nice build Doc. Paint work is killa, like the stance and the how you covered the seats and door panels with the skulls print design.
  14. Add me to the list of those looking foward to seeing more. I cant wait to get couple of this kit.
  15. Just another curbside lowrider build thats in the works. And yes Doc this one will be black.
  16. Thanks for comments fella's. Its good to know some of you die hard mopar fans approve too. As some of you mentioned it is a low quality kit,so I tried my best to do something cool with it. I love lowriders and have built a few curbsides (quick fun builds) in the past so I decided that would be the best way and style to build it. To me any hard top coupe make great subjects to be built as lowriders. No black this time Doc.But have a couple in the works. The lines were done free hand,I put the body close to the edge of my spray table and rest/ran my hand and arm along the edge using it as guide to keep hands steady while spraying. And I must thank you Doc for sharing info and helping me with how to apply and use pearl-ex.
  17. As always top quality and highly detailed. Such a treat to watch your builds in the w.i.p stage, and then be blown away everytime when you show the completed build.
  18. Pics continued.
  19. This build isnt anything special and didnt really put in much effort as I started with the MPC D.O.H kit, which is why I chose to build it as a curbside and use it for airbrush practice. The body. Paint base is H.O.K chrome yellow and molly orange highlights Then that was over coated with intercoat clear with Pearl-ex 641 pumpkin orange mixed in. Top coated with H.O.K UC-35 clear. Interior colour is Tamiya XF-55 deck tan. Wheels are Pegasus 1296 19" chrome DZ's.
  20. Cheers Paul for explaining step by step, not long winded at all. It was a perfect easy to understand description of the process you used to do the tape work and apply the paint. Thankyou it will help for sure.
  21. Very impressive scratch building Zac,top job on the fine details
  22. Cool paint work. Just a quick question as ive only just started using H.O.K paints, did you use intercoat clear in between tape offs ?.
  23. Well, when I eventually get this kit with out a doubt il build one as lowrider and paint it black for sure.
  24. Excellent build, very clean and well detailed James, really like all the custom features makes it very unique for sure.
