  1. This thread has my pics of what's in the box.
  2. I've been watching this car for years. It is an incredible reimagining of a timeless classic. Makes me want one BAD.
  3. Northern Tool and some hobby shops carry stainless steel dental picks (like those that the dentist grabs for and advances towards your incisors with a maniacal laugh...) in various bends and positions that are great for all sorts of things like manipulating small metal badge scripts from MCG, scoring door and trunk seams to open them up, positioning errant decals (watch the points on the ends of the picks as they can tear into the decal...). They are commonly called "woodworking tools" but make handling tiny items a cinch. Also, pick up one or two small containers of beeswax, commonly used to make your fingers tacky when thumbing through paperwork. Putting a minute amount of tacky wax on the end of your hook/pick allows you to grab and hold those small metal details long enough to position them on your model, and they leave no residue behind. And don't forget to pick up copious amounts of Silly Putty. Makes masking off areas for painting a breeze.
  4. I did this as the first Delorean of the series, with no arrestor hook, no Mr. Fusion, nothing. I also went back and painted the little window vents in the back properly as they needed to be. I also added extra wiring to make it more "busy".
  5. These are the pics I have so far...
  6. No shield, unfortunately, but a cool backdrop of the Batcave though...
  7. Also, an amendment to my tutorial. I buy cans of Walmart clearcoat spraypaint (can't exactly remember the brand right now) and now coat my decal sheets with that before using the Liquid Decal Film. The combination of the two really seals in the decal so that it has no chance whatsoever of fracturing or splintering when applying them on your models. Tamiya or Testors clearcoat can also be used along with Decal Bonder, but these other sprays are cost prohibitive compared to a simple decent acrylic clearcoat. Do a search on clearcoats here and do your research. Some clearcoats can interfere with other paints and cause all sorts of problems with your model, even if it's just the decal covered.

  9. This is my thread on the subject. Get your decal laserjet or inkjet paper from http://www.decalpaper.com/ and read through my thread for everything you need.
  10. I picked up one of these over the weekend, so I'll try and get some pics up. It has tubing in the kit to replicate engine hoses that you have to cut in length for, but there is a template in the instructions for that. It shows Skill 3 but it doesn't look all that difficult.
  11. Just found mine at Hobbytown. Includes a backdrop of the Batcave. I bought mine but haven't gotten around to opening it yet. Hopefully after work today I'll crack it open and take a few pics of it.
  12. Finally landed the BRE Datsun and the Starsky & Hutch Torino. Both have been exceedingly hard to get here. STILL have not found a '69 Ford Pickup yet, will have to resort to ordering online to get my hands on one. Grrrr.....
  13. Also, cutting and shaping styrofoam blocks to match luggage pieces and then wrapping them in fabric or painting them to look like Samsonite would be very easy to do. Making custom roof racks on trunks for bicycles or skis are just as easy.
  14. Dude! Nice Rat!!!!! Japanese vintage rust-runners are so cool to watch on tracks like "24 Hours of Lemons", and I can see this thing plowing into the side panel of a Corrolla or Mazda racer with that "tiger shark" artwork leading the way! Excellent!
  15. I was commissioned to build one of these, and I took the same tack you did in using a Revell kit. Looks just as good as mine did too. Awesome work!
  16. Glad to see these are still being built. Nice job!
  17. I really... REALLY WISH someone would re-release this. Been on my want list for quite some time now.
  18. Love the Monza Spyders. Awesome late-70's ugly-mobiles! Nice find!
  19. I like the decals... I can use 'em for my hippie van I'm working on!!! She's definitely a beauty in black/charcoal gray. I'd love to do up one in red or even an egg-shell white like my aunt had. I've just now got one in my stash so it will be awhile before I get to it tho.
  20. Purty knuckle-dragger!
  21. NICE WORK. It goes along with my Jurassic Park Ranger Jeep I built a while ago. Love the CRT's in the cab!
  22. Yup. Just caught that.... Shopped.
  23. Nope... no sponsor money. It's strictly an "art" thing...... if you can call it that.... This one is "Dangerously Cheesy".... at least someone finally got it right....
