  1. Very "of its era" with the single drive and the tag axle. Love it. Like the pot belly trailer too, thinking of one myself.
  2. Really nice workaday piece of machinery. Well done.
  3. Great work here, I admire your scratchbuilt spring, takes some patience. I don't think I'd be able to get the wheels to sit square if I tried that.
  4. Yep, squares would look gooder. Good looking build mate, you're excelling again.
  5. Very realistic interior, well done. Could you put a reinforcement behind the bumper whilst it's held at the right angles? I find laminating scratch built stuff helps to maintain angles.
  6. This is an extraordinary build. You have demonstrated tremendous ingenuity in adding details to the build. You don't have to explain yourself, you do it because you want to and no one can criticise you because we're all as daft!
  7. Great work on the visor and the dash. This is going to look great. I feel for you on the doctor appointments, mine are nonstop, I've can't remember why I'm going half the time!
  8. That's a nice looking piece of machinery. Well done!
  9. The weathering on this is just brilliant. I love the rubbed circle on the hitch plate, very realistic. On the mudflaps, one method I use is to put a piece of bar in a vice, then put the tape across it and fold it back against itself. It's quite easy to align so there's no sticky surfaces exposed. Then I cut it to size. It quite often takes on a gentle curve of its own which mimics the real thing after a life spent being buffetted by the wind.
  10. I use electrical tape for my mudflaps and I find that decals will adhere but they pull the flap out of shape as they dry.
  11. Impressive build indeed! I was looking at it and wondering how on earth you grip the thing to pick it up!
  12. Try different light angles on the lamp in the bumper, the shadows could be making the illusion of misalignment. It looks perfect to me! As does everything else on this job. Makes mine look like I've beaten it with a stick.
  13. Great work Jürgen, as usual. Like your V8 too. You're refining this process with every project. You're also building a great resource of chassis components etc... that you can call in for future projects, as you have with this. I think we're watching our future being written.
  14. Excellent job! Like the little details you've added. Well done.
  15. I don't know how I missed this, great job on the KW and the trailer looks great too, excellent combination.
  16. What a great looking truck, and you made a great job of bringing all the different elements together.
  17. Gorgeous truck, gorgeous model too!
  18. Excellent attention to detail, as ever. I've thought of using black electrical insulation tape for tank strap rubbers. I already use HVAC aluminium tape for the straps themselves so it would be a case of layering them. You're right, you do need clearance between the tank and the exhaust. If not for heat for contact damage. Looking great though.
  19. First post? Good to have someone with your abilities on board, looks great.
  20. I've turned into a bolt counter. Having added bolts to the frame horns I decided that I couldn't leave other bits unbolted now. Added reinforcement to the slide plate, drilled 8 holes and then used ali wire for the bolts. I didn't want to drill everywhere though, because some of the places I needed bolts weren't really easy to drill. I took a piece of 1mm square rod, took the corners off and the rolled it against a file until it appeared and felt round. Diced the rod into tiny slices and started gluing them in place on the frame and suspension. Looks much better. I was worried it would end up a mess but no. They need levelling with a file once they're set but they already look ok. Cut a 2mm strip from sheet and formed it into a ring in a geometry style circle stencil. Cut out a shroud and for the radiator and glued the ring into it - looks good. Just got to make a fan now, don't know how...
  21. I would hate to see you come a cropper at the last stage. I seem to recall that some modellers use a coat of silver before the final colour because it blocks the colours underneath but I'm not absolutely certain of that. So basically I've frightened the life out of you and walked away. I feel lousy about that.
  22. That is impressive, to say the least. Well done.
