  1. I have used a contour tool. It's a group of small wires that push into what shape you want to copy. The wires form to it, and you tighten the clamp. It's been around for years and most carpenters that do trim usually have one.
  2. I believe the fixit sculpt is another version of Magic-sculpt. For the money, it is way cheaper than Milliput, and after using both, I'd go with the Magic-sculpt. Another filler I'm fond of and use is 30 minute epoxy mixed with micro balloons. A very light and easy to apply and sand filler I do use the two-part polyester putties, but I don't really have a favorite. Tamiyas has some neat qualities, but to me they are all mostly the same basic thing.
  3. I do have a few Corvette Promos(50-75) from the '90's.They were supposed to be "blue chip investments" I'll probably keep some earlier ones like some '70's. I also have a couple Opel GT promos in red and met. Green.
  4. This almost makes one think that not only should a buyer check out a sellers feedback, but as a seller you may want to sneak a peek at a potential buyer!
  5. This is done very well, no need to apologize for your status here. What is the source for the basic chassis? This car and the Ramchargers skinny dart has been on my build (wish) list for many years.
  6. Resin Realm and R&R are two different entities. Entering the Resin Realm may have led you to Star models who sells resin cast by R&R. I'm not sure who casts for Resin Realm. HTH
  7. Mine would be the cost of admission to the first model car swap meet I ever went to(Super Model Car Sunday)in Hillside,IL. Picked up a couple of SAE back issues and that was my second best purchase. This was in 1987.
  8. I use both and have about 10 AB'S all different brands. With spray cans getting up around $10, and some specialty stuff I like at $15+ the AB is beginning to look like a good deal.
  9. Another hidden gem I missed! What happened to that glossy paint work? I never considered the MM as a base for a cool custom. Looks great!!
  10. This has been a real treat to see. Like the previous post, I left this board for quite a while when my computer died. Did the pickup you were working on get finished?
  11. Computer failed and I can't seem to preview my posts?
  12. I hesitated to say this, but I really believe there is FAR MORE good resin than bad these days. The internet has become a great watchdog.
  13. Look for a plastic supply house and check out Nylatron,Delrin etc. These can be pricey so also search plastics on ebay. Not sure what to suggest for frame material.
  14. Nice work, cutting into diecast is no fun,and working in larger scales has it's problems too. I like those side strakes also.
  15. I've bought dozens of decals by Cady from Mr. Gravely. From private e-mails with him I find it hard to believe he'd bother to copy. Have you contacted the seller about the poor quality of the decals.Even the best have a bad day.
  16. The single biggest improvement/change(?) that I could suggest would be to re-shape those sharp points on either side of the front fenders down low and in front.
  17. I strongly disagree. That's a real slap in the face to the really conscientious ones out there If you deal with the top and middle tier you'll get your stuff. There are probably three or four that don't deliver and I've mentioned two. Most that conducted their deals that way are no longer around.
  18. Yup! You get more bees with honey thatn with vinegar! (that's if you like honey and don't get stung by the bee's)
  19. There are, and along with some others, I don't understand the Evil-bay, Feebay etc,and also the anger over Paypal.
  20. You did a beautiful job on those wheel well/body flairs! This whole build is shaping up to be great!
  21. Yeah,I've got to get some pics of that up here.
  22. I don't know. I bought some Lacquer made by Sherwin-Williams in the mid 90's.This stuff was OLD then(there is no zip code in the address on the labels) I thinned it with some PPG thinner and shot some models and it worked fine. I think enamels are more susceptible to aging problems
  23. It's a Japan kit with opening doors and hood by Nakamura. It's a motorized kit,but looks pretty accurate.I Thought about casting it.Anyone interested?
  24. You bet! Got Gallons stashed.
