    Jay most certainly is an everyday man. I met him at the annual Spring Fling Chrysler show at Woodley Park (Van Nuys) in 1997 , purely unintentionally. I literally bumped-into him as we were perusing the same car (haha). He said something to the effect of , "Fancy meeting you like this !" We both shared a laugh as he introduced himself. Very nice , and one of the most sincere, authentic guys I've ever met, Celebrity notwithstanding ( I also met Dennis Hopper back in 1999 at an art show. He, too, was very personable).

    Last time I built one (2003 or 2004) the Jimmy belt gave me some grief (to put it mildly).

    That's the one I have in my stash. Not sure why MPC alluded to the 2WD version on the Dirt Devil et al. after the purple version was "upgraded" ?

    That one was a huge letdown to me back in 1979. Why's that? False advertising! Look at that 2WD version in the upper-left! I could swear that there was another version --different name , different colour-- which exhibited a 'STOCK VERSION' 2WD with steelies and hubcaps! Of course I can't find an image of it.

    In an early 1988 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast featured a build up of the then-newly reissued 1929 Pickup/Woody by Tim Boyd. I'm pleased that those P.O.S. Rallye G.T. "snow" tyres hath been replaced by a nicer set.

    Another one of your creations which looks like one could hop into and drive away in. Like others have stated : I can't wait to see the finished product ; I also thoroughly enjoy following your amazing craftsmanship.

    The door handles which Chief Joseph (Fireball) manufactures would be a huge improvement . I'll likely buy a set for the MPC 1978 Chevy Pickup [ 2WD annual ] I have awaiting me .

    1968 Chevy II / Nova SS had the 295hp 350 standard. The rating was bumped -advertised- to 300hp for 1969 , IIRC.

    I certainly do. When I noticed JS23U and I knew it had to be a 1970 R/T ( the "U" = 440 Magnum , which was only available for 1970 in the Challenger and its Plymouth relative 'Cuda ) . What's its plant code ? "B" = Hamtramck [ Detroit ] ; "E" = Los Angeles [ City Of Commerce ] .

    It'll be nice to have a non-Cowl bonnet for a 'regular' SS -- now the 396 / 454 from the AMT kits could be used to represent a 325hp or 350hp 396 with A/C ( though I wish that Round2 would tool a separate trans pan for that TH-400... ) .

    Would be nice if Revell were to ditch those hideous 1990s custom "blade" wheels and Charles In Charge graphics , and replace them with period correct pieces ( *cough* Spyder wheels *cough* ) .

    Outstanding coupe , Mike ! That Nailhead is perfect ( one of my fave engines ) . The 'carpet' looks especially convincing here -- it really pops with that white interior .

    Minor cosmetic changes in addition to a name change ? Certainly that's happened a time of seven over the decades .

    At the risk of steering this thread toward a cul-de-sac for a moment : April 1979 was also when gas octane ratings were changed / updated -- certainly that appeared to be a raw deal . Not that that affected newer ( 1972 & newer ) vehicles , but those A.K.I. ratings were advertised as lower than previous decades ( e.g. , 105 octane was 'now' 100 octane vis-à-vis R+M/2 method ) . Add another gas shortage ( Diesel was essentially unaffected ) on top of those "miserable" new ratings , and the recipe for doom and gloom was set . My parents' 1976 Monarch Ghia Coupe with its 351-W wasn't exactly a miser with gas . At least my dad's 1969 Dart ( stock 273 ) could operate on whatever grade was available .

    That'll be nice to have when it's available . I noticed that in the photos of the original kit , there's no 'glass' for the back & sides ( other than the wind wings ) . I haven't had a copy of this kit since its first release ; I don't recall if 'glass' was included in the copy I'd had .

    Like their LA engine series ( 1970 Challenger T/A and Ramcharger ) ? Those engines --while looking good in their respective vehicles' boiler rooms-- are huge compared to a comparable 1/25 scale engine . Their 440+6 isn't a bad looking engine , esp. the 1994 & newer induction ( from the 1971 GTX ) setup with its much better representation of Holley 2300s .

    Thank you for your research and answer . I'd figured that there had to be some due to the moulded-on-both-sides nature . Those left quarters' sink marques seem simple enough to fill , esp. since they're on a slab-side component .

    I wonder what's included with the 1953 F-100 Gulf kit ? Decals only ? It's one of my favourite kits , though the moulds' age has been , um , showing for the last few issues . 1956 Victoria is another great kit . I still have the c.2010 issue in the stash . Perhaps another one won't hurt . 1967 Zed... Still have the most-recent issue ( or was that a '68 ? Essentially the same kit , IIRC ) . Another nice piece . 1980 Monte Carlo ( or is it an '81 or '82 ? ) . Other than the engine being , as it always has , the older representation of the venerable SBC ( and is sans power steering ) , the rest of the kit is nice : lots of bonuses , and just plain fun to build . certainly I'm not alone in hoping that Round2 will eventually backdate this kit to the Wheeler Dealer iteration ( last issue with the single headlights ) . Where's the 1976 Caprice Coupe ?
