  1. Refresh my mammaries : are you going to add the HEMI emblem just-aft the front side markers ?
  2. Much better ! That's a realistic sheen for sure .
  3. That'll be nice to have when it's available . I noticed that in the photos of the original kit , there's no 'glass' for the back & sides ( other than the wind wings ) . I haven't had a copy of this kit since its first release ; I don't recall if 'glass' was included in the copy I'd had .
  4. Like their LA engine series ( 1970 Challenger T/A and Ramcharger ) ? Those engines --while looking good in their respective vehicles' boiler rooms-- are huge compared to a comparable 1/25 scale engine . Their 440+6 isn't a bad looking engine , esp. the 1994 & newer induction ( from the 1971 GTX ) setup with its much better representation of Holley 2300s .
  5. Thank you for your research and answer . I'd figured that there had to be some due to the moulded-on-both-sides nature . Those left quarters' sink marques seem simple enough to fill , esp. since they're on a slab-side component .
  6. I wonder what's included with the 1953 F-100 Gulf kit ? Decals only ? It's one of my favourite kits , though the moulds' age has been , um , showing for the last few issues . 1956 Victoria is another great kit . I still have the c.2010 issue in the stash . Perhaps another one won't hurt . 1967 Zed... Still have the most-recent issue ( or was that a '68 ? Essentially the same kit , IIRC ) . Another nice piece . 1980 Monte Carlo ( or is it an '81 or '82 ? ) . Other than the engine being , as it always has , the older representation of the venerable SBC ( and is sans power steering ) , the rest of the kit is nice : lots of bonuses , and just plain fun to build . certainly I'm not alone in hoping that Round2 will eventually backdate this kit to the Wheeler Dealer iteration ( last issue with the single headlights ) . Where's the 1976 Caprice Coupe ?
  7. I think that Chris @hpiguyhas that one in his stash . I know that he recently reviewed & built the 1/24 scale Bus ( looks like a very fun kit ) , but that kit's more detailed , IIRC , and is a one-piece body ( other than roof ) . How many sink marques are present on that 1/16 scale Bus ? I would be ( pleasantly ) surprised if there weren't any .
  8. Nice B-Van ! I have the recent-issue of the 1982 B-Van ( Turtle Wax edition ) and I can't wait to dig in on it . The body was changed / updated for the 1978 restylling ( vertical tail lamps , primarily ; grille is purely cosmetic ) . I prefer the 1971 - 1977 tail lamps , and the earlier grilles , but am not adverse to the 1982 appearance . How awesome would it be if Round2 were to backdate the old MPC B-Van to its 1971 - 1977 guise !
  9. Maybe Round2 could make some of those cardboard , "mini-box" type replicas of those cans and / or displays ? Inexpensive , nostalgic , and a neat addition to displaying of completed kits .
  10. I'm eight again ! I'd had each one of those at one time or another , between 1978-1983 .
  11. Chrysler's warrantee Rep , Jack Werst ( A/K/A "Mr. 5 & 50" ) campaigned a Superbird in SS/EA .
  12. You are certainly not alone in that , Mike . I "gave up" Testors paints for the most part a long time ago ( I use Tamiya paints -aerosol and bottle- almost exclusively ) . The last time that I'd used one of their 'automobile' colours --single-stage enamel-- was some 17 years ago ; it was FM3 Panther Pink / Moulin Rouge . I'd painted an AMT 1971 Super Bee ( converted to 340-power , via the 1971 Duster engine , mated-to the Charger's Torqueflite ) with that enamel FM3... and it took a solid month for it to cure ( !!! ) . The two-stage lacquer was much better . Two years ago I built the Monogram 1971 Hemi 'Cuda Hardtop for my then-girlfriend . Even in cold temperatures ( 30's ) , the colour coat flashed quickly . I was pleasantly surprised ! After a few days , I clear coated it with the vaunted Testors "One Shot" gloss lacquer clear . Even that dried rock hard in less than a day -- didn't even have to colour sand and polish , it was that perfect . But , I digress... The only air brush type applicator that I have is a Prevail which I'd bought at work some 14 years ago ( haha ) . Should I feel compelled to accomplish a factory colour , I'll go with one of the fledgling 'Scale Auto Finishes' et alia paints . All my best , Mike !
  13. I'm pleasantly surprised to see separate exhaust -- too bad that AMT didn't go all out and have a separate axle-differential-springs setup ( yes , I realise that this kits dates to c.1968 ) .
  14. That's closer to what it actually traded for. I bought me copy of it at Kay Bee in summer 1985 . I had a crisp $50 in me wallet ( plus another $50 at home ) after a weekend of landscaping the yard of a well-to-do lady's home . Big money in 1985 ! Me grandmum gave $50 for the '85 Corvette in December 1984 . She paid that then-inflated retail price at a department store which catered to the upper-middle-class ( Hinshaw's in Whittier , Ca. , if you're interested . Long defunct ) . That's likely where I got the "$40- $50" price range .
  15. Well , ROG could simply marque the '69 Camaro as " ß " instead ?
  16. It's worth a shot ! Haha ! Plantin' seeds and seeing what grows ?
  17. IIRC , the same scale '85 Corvette and the '85 IROC-Z retailed for $40 - $50 when they were new ( my word... 37 years ago ! ) . I can only imagine that the T.A. will be around a buck-fifty , especially considering the monumental price hikes of recent .
  18. I like that ! Should you decide to keep these custom touches , may I suggest smaller tyres for the front ? Smaller diametre , thinner tread-width . The hood scoop is spot on as well . During the Malaise Era of American cars ( c.1971 - c.1990 +/- ) , many vehicles which were otherwise stock were often festooned with scoops , wheels & tyres , and stickers ( hence the idiom "Sticker Racer" ) .
  19. That AMC Hornet promo isn't worth any more than its shipping cost . I'll take it off your hands for the cost of shipping it to me ?
  20. I'm working on the hardtop version of the AMT 1964 '4-4-2' -- building it 100% out-of-the-box --and I couldn't help but notice what's missing from the engine and engine-side cooling system : No radiator hoses ? No oil fill tube ? I can easily overlook the incorrect Rochester 2 bbl. (it'll be hidden under the air cleaner anyhow) and general has-its-roots-in-1963-technology "errors" and omissions , but the lack of these pieces combined with my directive to build strictly OOB has decided me to build it curbside . With that being stated ; I would like to see members' build-ups of that 330 V8 . I recognise that the majority of folks are swapping the '66 Olds or '67 Olds chassis , suspension , engine , etc. for the mediocre stock '64 components -- I'm primarily interested in OOB 330 engines . Thanks much .
  21. I've long wondered whatever happened to that one-eighth scale Trans Am -- I haven't seen it around since 1988 ! I hope that it sells well enough to "justify" releasing the 1985 IROC-Z and 1985 Corvette ! I'd like to see the 1/12 scale '69 Zed again , as well as the '67 'Vette and '57 Chevy .
  22. Max's Kansas City ? Mud Club ? CGBGs ? Other venues whose names I'm forgetting ? I was only 7 ... and living on the west coast ... so I missed all of the action .
  23. Watched last night , and thoroughly enjoyed it . Answered my internal question regarding the potential for the stock and customising parts are included . As usual , Chris knocked it out of the park ! I'll have to wait to get this one , as my financial advisor says no to anymore investing in kits for now .
  24. Looks great , Mike ! I can't wait to see how you work some magick on that Nailhead ( one of my favourite engines ) .
  25. Neither do I ( haha ) . I do remember your telling me that you don't speak Cymræg , but I couldn't resist . That language intrigues me much ; it's part of my lineage ( Welsh , Scots , and Irish ) .
