Absolutely no C-bodies with the 426 Hemi , period . 1965 was still the era of race-only Hemi engines anyhow ; 1966 was the first year for the 'Street Hemi' . That 426-W is the way to go ... and , yes , a 4-speed was an option .

I checked out their Harvey , Illinois location (inside the Dixie Square Mall) last night . They were out of what I wanted , but I bought something anyhow ...

Photo #2 exhibits a bare (blue) plastic 'strip' between the exhaust ports ; however , this isn't the case on the finished product ! Not sure why that blue is there in the photo ... ?

Thanks much , Jeremy ! Working on finishing the interior next (and , yes , the engine will receive some touchups hear and there) . Left it in its as-moulded colour (Marina Blue) , but painted the carpet and package shelf in Tamiya Flat Blue ; the dash is detailed as well .

Exactly ! Hahahaha ! "Sweating" PCV and Breather grommets , too . Photos didn't capture the look all that well ...

...and no mention of its outdate-even-by-1986-standards SBC / TH-200 combo ? I'm not familiar with the year-to-year cosmetic changes of the El Camino , nor do I really care that MPC ( et al. ) dropped the ball on its cosmetic updates ; I'm just happy to see an 80's Elky reissued . LS3 / 4L60E conversion , anyone ?

Finally got some progress AND some photos of the Revell 1967 SS-396 Chevelle I've been fiddling with . These are all pics of its Mark IV 396 --- mediocre cell phone photos at that ! I've attempted to capture the essence of an engine that's a few years old --note its aluminium heads-- by griming it up some ... hope that I've succeeded ! Enjoy !

NOT a "Land Yacht" , but definitely a refugee from the mid-1970's : 1976 Mercury Monarch Ghia Coupe ! Still searching for one of the Lindberg 1/32 scale versions ... would "settle" for the 1975 Granada Coupe .

"Submitted for your approval ..." How about the "Land Barge" police models ??? The 1974-1977 Dodge Monaco (and Royal Monaco) and Plymouth Fury were the last of the big-sized police cars ( Ford and GM having downsized their full-size lines by '76 , '77 ) . I'm still holing out hope for a 1993-1996 Caprice 9C1 ---- a full-detail version , of course .

I've seen photos of two-door hardtop Monaco and / or Gran Fury Pursuit vehicles with the "A38" Police Conversion ( but not having seen the V.I.N. , I couldn't tell if the 2nd character is an "L" or a "K" ) . These had the top-engine-for-two-door-B-bodies : the 'P' Code 400-HP ; all were automatics . I don't remember which agencies ordered these cars --- I'm leaning toward Washington State , Montana , and / or Idaho . Of course , I can't find the images now ...

Tip-up , as to avoid flooding the business-end ( opposite with the Sharpies ; those I store tip-down ) . Another key component to the Molotow Pens : c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y twist the cap off by holding the tip's base (see attached image) , as to not disturb its position , and subsequently its contents (the ink) .

I've had very good luck with and excellent results with the fledgling aerosol chrome paints from Duplicolor and / or Krylon . They can be sprayed-over any colour base (caveat : key prep being a smooth surface) , and the finish is same .

Another vote here for '64-'65 Buick ! I love those often-overlooked Buicks ; not a bad looking A-body Buick from '64-'72 ( I also love the Colonnades ! ) . We can dream , can't we ?

I'd be down for a new-tooling '65 F-85 / Cutlass ! Just be certain to include the 225 Econ-o-Way V6 in the mix !

Just remember : the A-488 Torqueflite -- the trans behind the kit's engine -- should be finished in a cast iron shade ( same applies to the A-466 Powerflite 2-speed --- think : Moebius '56 Chrysler 300 ) . Aluminium-cast T-flites didn't appear until 1960 ( the A-904-G Torqueflite Six ) , with the A-727-A and A-727-B appearing for 1962 .

Had a brief minute to snap a couple of photos of the 396 resting (mock-up) in its bay . First image is blurry ; second image is much better . Same phone camera , same time --- I'm going , "What the --- ?" Dashboard and pad assembly is drying ; pics tomorrow ...

This kit's tooling is 30 years old , but appears that it still produces a nice , clean mould --- I didn't see any flash at all ! One of the AMT Oldsmobile 4-4-2 W-30 and its twin , the '69 H/O , finest points has got to be that engine block ! It is beautifully executed ; easily stands up to contemporary tooling . The tyres look incredible ! And that extra set of Good Year Blue Streak slicks is a nice touch . Thanks again , Chris !

I remember that M/P '65 wagon ! It came out so nice ! The semi-scratch-built Hurst shifter and boot combo is righteous . Now that I'm seeing this photo , I'm thinking that the c.1983 issue of the AMT '58 Impala was the source for those wheels .

That hardtop body style looks very nice , but is "unrealistic" from an engineering standpoint : how do the rear windows roll-down into those rear doors ? The "G"-Series ( "G"=1971 ) roof looks right , sedan and all . Your version looks a lot better than the "1:1" version ; the C-pillars and roof / backlight transition are cleaner on your version .

Seems to me that those would be from the c.1986 reissue of the (outstanding) AMT 1953 F-100 , as it was moulded in a light blue . The Chevelle kit -- at least the AMT version from the Lensey [sp?] era -- had unfettered Rally Wheels with separate centre caps . I've never seen the contents of the MPC 1971-1972 Chevelles ...

Those are the ones ! I bought a couple of sets of these reproductions a few years ago --- one sets going on an unbuilt MPC 1978 Chevy Pickup Stepside .
