The only 1/25 scale differences between a 1975 and 1976 Dart would be the ambre-coloured parking lamps / turn signals in the grille . In "1:1" scale , there are a host of differences . To name but two : 1.) Interior Rear View Mirror was mlounted to the windshield 2.) Parking Brake was a pedal versus the pull-out-to-apply e-brake of 1960-1975 . This recent issue features restored parts from the 1975 annual (and its virtual twin , the 1976 annual) which was originally an MPC kit . It was first retooled in 1983-ish (moulded in red) and couldn't be built "stock" (the stock Rallye Wheels and matching tyres were absent) . Then in ca.2004 , the same kit was reissued , this time under the {{dreaded}} RC2 banner . Other than the change in the plastic's colour , it was a direct-reissue (and had clear glass as opposed to the heavily-tinted glass which MPC employed in the early 80's). In other words : this is the one to get ! Round2 restored all of the original parts

I *believe* that the wheels were 13" , and had 4 retainers . 14" with 5 retainers were V8 and-or Disc brake equipped models .

1970 Challenger engine color for 340 Six Pak
1972coronet replied to jaydar's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I buy Duplicolor Chrysler Engine Orange . It lasts a long time ; it lays-out nicely , and ; it's the original colour . Chrysler Engine Red was dropped after the 1969 model year . Here's a list of the colours of the 340 , broken down by year(s) , including air cleaner colour (see below): - 1968 = Chrysler Red - 1969 = Chrysler Blue* - 1970-1971 = Chrysler Orange - 1972-1973 = Chrysler Engine Blue ( colloq. : "1972 Blue" ) Air Cleaner Colours : - 1968-1969 = Semi-Flat (Satin) Black - 1970-1971 = Black Wrinkle + - 1972-1973 = "Air Cleaner" Orange (technically differs from Engine Orange ; it's a bit more yellow) NOTES : * = Some 1969 340's were Red (very early production . I've seen a late 1968-build , Los Angeles Plant assembled , 1969 Dart GTS 340 whose original engine was Red) ; most were "Engine Blue" (more of a turquoise) , and ; some very-late 1969 340's were Engine Orange (yet to see one in-person) + = Some 1970-model "N95" (Cleaner Air Package / California Emissions) air cleaners had twin snorkles (with "Pre-Heat" tube from the driver's side manifold) . These were painted semi-gloss black . To further muddy the waters ; I'm yet to see a single 1970 340 air cleaner in this fashion , and I'm a life-long Calif resident (!). -
Pre-Orders are now available !

Revell 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda - Lime Light - Finished Pics
1972coronet replied to RandyB.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
My vote is for : - Elastomeric front - Chrome rear I , too , believe that the wheels' reatiner pins are bagged with the 'glass' , albeit in a separated-by-a-"heat-pinched"-area . Now I have to double check my copy ! -
Another consideration ; if you want a truly authentic underbelly , don't forget to spray the wheelwells , chassis-side of the Shear Panels (colloq. , "inner fender wells") , and at least half of the grille-side of the core support (from the bottom-up) , in a satin black . Even cars which didn't receive factory undercoating had those aforementioned areas "blacked-out" . Only exceptions / exclusions were factory-produced race cars (e.g. , 1967 Super Stock Coronet and Belvedere) and cars painted dark colours ( TX9 Black , GB7 Blue , GF8 Green , etc.).

1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
1972coronet replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Those engines look more like a 3.9 litre ("Chopped 318 V8") engine ! Just an awful engine all-around . I must admit , however , that I have seen one example of that 'generic' MoPar LA-Series engine in an MPC 1977 Road Runner , whose builder turned into a respectible piece ! If it's any consolation , the AMT 340 from their 1971 Duster does look small inside the carniverous boillerroom of 1970-1974 E-Bodies and 1971-1974 B-Bodies . Same's true in "1:1" scale . -
1968 PLymouth Roadrunner colors
1972coronet replied to RANDY L's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Go to the Library section of the site ; click on what set of years you're looking for ; scroll-down to Paint Chips , and ; peruse the colour chip section. Gives the Chrysler colur code (e.g. , "UU1") and what models that colour was available on . Hamtramck Historical is unbeatable when it comes to info for Chrysler vehicles . -

1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
1972coronet replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The backlight shape does look more accurately-executed on the MPC (et al.) body . Not that the Revell version is all together *bad* ; and in a completed state , its more-square-ish backlight shape probably diminishes . Looking forward to seeing what my more skilled plastic fanatics devise as far as 'correcting' the rear wheel arches and their trim ... -

Chrysler went to "universal" (read : generic) side marker lamps in 1972 on all its models except the C-Bodies (Monaco-Polara , Fury , New Yorker , Imperial) and its pickups (I could be wrong ; although later iterations of the "D/W" Series eventually went to the "universal" side markers in the 1980's or so . -

Go Mango / Vitamin-C were both EK2 . Special Order colour in 1969 , regular production colour for 1970 , then it was gone forever by 1971 . -
Testing a bad engine computer, and its symptoms?

I'm thinking it's the Crank Position Sensor as well . OBD II didn't appear until the 1996 model year . -

That EK2 ( Vitamin C ) , as JS23U pointed out , has got to be a "BH23" (Barracuda) , and , perhaps less-likely , a "BP23" (Gran Coupe) . The FM3 ( Moulin Rouge ) has a Dodge air cleaner "pie tin" ! "Magnum" is Dodge's nomanclature for their high-perf engines , whereas Plymouth employed "Commando" and "Super Commando" as their high-perf engines' name . As a side ; I'd have been more impressed if the orange car was kept in its Barracuda livery , and simply had the engine / drivetrain swap . Perhaps in origin , it was a 330hp 383 Barracuda , ordered in EK2 orange ; a rare item if it be so !

1968 Dodge Charger *engine weathering Dec 7*
1972coronet replied to Cheap Sunglasses's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Peter ... All that I can add is , WOW ! Not only does that forlorn 440 Mag look perfectly-weathered , but it's also painted the correct -at least darned close- Chrysler Engine Turquoise-Blue ! -
Terry - I still have that issue of that other magazine ; it's somewhere in storage . The only thing about the article that I was disappointed about : no mention of where you sourced the wheels and tyres (!) . In later years , I realised that they were from the AMT Chevy Van (at least the wheels were) . I am pleased that this 'relic' is still around
