Man alive , that's an epic piece of worksmanship , James !! And those righteous , 100% correct license plates are too much !! (more on those in a minute...) I can just see this Valiant cruising up the Pasadena Freeway ( then , CA 11 , today CA 110 ) , through the Figuroa Street Tunnels , over the Golden State Freeway transition , and miles away to CA 14 / Antelope Valley Freeway , with Jazz , commericals , traffic reports , weather forecasts and "Sweet" Dick Whittington hosting a talk programme ! Kudos , my good man ! ** Those license plates on the 1971 Valiant in the movie are special to movie and television cars . While I'm not aware of the origins of the characters on the plate ( 149 PCE ) , I can say that , if they were issued as a regular-ad seq plate , they would've been issued in circa 1976 ( "P" = 1976 ) . In subsequent years , variations of this plate were utilised on the "A-TEAM" GMC van ( "1PCE149" ) and other vehicles in other t.v. shows / films whose names I cannot recall at the moment.

I stand corrected . I never noticed that the Y-Blocks' ignition wires were routed that way . Thanks for the accompanying photos , too .

YES !!

As soon as I saw its headlights I said to myself , Pennsylvania car ! This is the first time I've seen a Fury of this vintage with its inboard lights "missing" vis-a-vis Pennsylvania motor vehicle law . Nice lookin' A-motor , by the way . I'd imagine that it's a bear to operate , what with manual brakes and steering ... ( I state that with full recognition that those items were luxuries for many years , by the way ).

Looks like a nice , cleanly-built engine to me -- however , I don't believe that Ford's Y-Block or FE or MEL engine series ignition wires are routed under the exhaust manifolds (a la big block Chrysler) . Looks super otherwise !

I've used Krylon's satin black as a base coat for metallic silver lacquer , and the results were *nice* . Why do I de-emphasise the finished product ? Well , its final coats plus a lacquer clear resulted in an "in-scale" finish ! What subject did I perform this paint job on ? The MPC 1980 Monte Carlo ! Most of us certainly remember how mediocre the gloss was on 70's water-based paints of GM's cars . If one is concerned about primer potentially dulling the finish colour coats : I always wet sand the final primer and / or base coats ; this gives the primer / flat paint a smooth finish , yet leaves enough of a "tooth" for the finish coats to adhire to . But , then again , I'm a minimalist when it comes to just about every-thing , especially my artwork and models

I hate to be "that guy" , but trust me on this : it's much better to drink a soda with real sugar in it than drink anything with that garbage aspartame ! Aspartame exasparates preexisting conditions ; aches and pains (e.g , arthritis , and other chronic pains) ; neuropathy , anxiety , vertigo , and countless other conditions manifest themselves as well . I know this from first-hand experience . Now I consume only real sugar soda : Hansen's Natural Cola is very good ; secondary would be either "Throwback" Pepsi ( and I despise 'regular' Pepsi ! But the real sugar stuff is actually good !) . Another option is to look for Coke or Pepsi that's from Mexico . Seeing that you live in Az , that shouldn't be a problem . I find it all of the time here in So Cal.

It looks like a really neat metallic version of Chrysler's Sublime / Lime Lite . You have a super nice , clean 1971 'Cuda there , Marcus ! Keep up the great work !

Nice FY1 'Cuda , Lee ! I just bought an aerosol can of GY3 and TB3 in Acrylic Enamel (single-stage) from work , and am going to use them on the 1971 Satellite (GY3) and the 1971 'Cuda (TB3) . Would you be willing to share your way of correcting that fascia ? I also recognise that the Satellite-come-GTX has a similar problem .

I'm digging the so-called "Faux-Retro" box art , and the new parts ( bench seat , steelies , etc.). I just hope that it includes a truly retro piece from this kit's 1988 origins : the moulded-onto-the-windshield interior rear view mirror !

The latest issue of Mopar Action has the answer to the availablitiy of this colour in the Reference Restorations section ; and if I can get off my lazy butt , I'll look up the answer ... "Turbine Bronze" was available as a 'regular' colour from c.1964 - mid-1966 or 1967 .

The Pacer is definitely a welcomed kit in my home apartment ! And , I agree : the 1980 Volare would be most welcomed ! While it was a custom-only in its last year (anyone know why ?) , it wasn't far removed from its stock 'annual' origins . Did somebody say "backdated-Datsun-Pickup-with-the-V8-and-flip-front-clip-included" ?

I saw those , too , but was more initially impressed by the main piece here : those cool vintage wheels with vintage tyres included ! I wonder if Round2 would be *interested* in producing other 'stand alone' wheels which'll work with their gorgeous tyres ... Just think about it : Motor Wheels' Spyders , Cragar GT's , Ansen Sprints ...

Then there's the truly obscure 1964 NASCAR 426 Hemi Belvedere hardtop ! I first read about one and saw pics of it in Mopar Action back in c.1990 or so . It was red / red and had the single 4 Bbl induction and cowl-plate-air cleaner .

Looking great , James ! Nice clean build ! That green resembles a 1969 special order colour from Dodge . I can't recall its name right now ; however it was quite close to Chevy's Rally Green . Keep up the great work !

Juan , I totally admire your ambition and drive ! Keep the faith and keep up the great work ! Your colour choices for engines and whatnot are really unique ; that Hemi looks super cool ! I am happy that you didn't "lose your religion" over the ignition wiring *ordeal* . I am certain that your building skills will continue to improve en masse !

From what I understand ----and believe me , I'm as dumb as a bag of bricks---- the 1964 Super Stock Plymouths and Dodges were available in two flavours : -- Early , Stage III 426 Wedge were 'sedans' (e.g. , the B-pillar / framed glass) -- "Late" , 426 Hemi were hardtops I could be *wrong* on this ; it may've been a wives' tale from eons ago that the Wedges were 'sedans' and Hemis were hardtops .
