  1. I don't know what to say here , Rustiacolour , other than an intial "WHOA !!" Beautiful work !! Speaking of Drag Bikes : a friend and former co-worker was telling me stories about the old Lions Drag Strip (his friend ran a Dana-prepped '67 Camaro there back in the day) , and how he ended up running *against* a home made Drag Bike in said 427 Camaro . He and his friend were in the pits , in the dark , getting the Camaro ready for its return trip home , when , as he said : " this big group of mixed-ethnicity guys were walking toward us . The guy in the middle was absolutely huge and intimidating ! The muscle-bound guy says to us , 'you wanna run your car again so that we can get some track time on our club's bike ? Y'know ; a fun run !'" . Ends up that the big dude was Big Willie Robinson and the Brotherhood of Los Angeles Street racers . So , the Camaro lined-up against the bike , and when the green dropped , the bike hauled fanny and was scary ! I can only imagine how much fun racing was in those days , seeing early drag bikes running at the same time as questionably-streetable cars ! Beautiful work there , Rustiacolour
  2. Hmm ... sounds like a plan . I thought that those engines looked like chopped W-Engines , but had no idea that they were based upon the tooling of the 348 (ad seq.).
  3. That's one "Boss" Baron ! Looks like someone Vandal-ised a kit for its engine and transmission .
  4. I wonder if someone could "photoshop" the photo of the test shot and colourise it ... To me , I see the following *potential* problems : - The exterior mirrors' location and proportions ( too small and sit too-high-and-far-rearward on the door ) ; - The front sidemarker lamp looks too long (exaggerated proportions) ; - The windshield looks too flat and undersized , and ; - The seats look too thick . Like Casey mentioned : the monotone gray in combination with the blue background and the lighting all add-up to visual "trickery" .
  5. Agent G - The AMT 1971 Charger chassis would be right for a 1971 & later Coronet / Charger / Road Runner / Satellite (and 1970 - 1974 Barracuda / Challenger as well ) , as the Roscoe's Ramp Jumper (or whatever it's called) is a B-Body Monaco . The wheelbase is a *bit* different ; just adjust the rear axle to re-centre it to its proper spot . Also , if the Charger's 8.75" diff "bothers" you (1974 was the last year for the 8.75" rear) , then perhaps either a Dana 44 (close enough) or Chrysler 9.25" (resin-cast I believe ...) is in order . I have always despised the "Country-Wide" wheels and tyres in the MPC (et al.) Monaco "A38" kits !!!
  6. Nice work , Michigan Madman ( Iggy Pop ? George Clinton ? Rob Tyner ? Whose title is that again ? ) . Looks righteous ; very convincing ! I really like that STP decal ... Its application here reminds me of the cars in the junkyard scenes in Psych-Out , and the allusion to the "other form" of STP .
  7. I've always been fascinated by the GMC V6's (305/351c.i.d.) and the truly odd Twin-Six (702 c.i.d.) , and am wondering if anyone makes one or both of these neat looking engines in 25th scale . I'd like to build the Tom Daniel's "S'Cool Bus" with a Twin-Six in-place of the kit's engines ; I'd like to add a couple of 6-71 blowers atop as well . Also , if anyone's made their own 305/351 or 702 Twin-Six out of scratch materials or modified from an existing kits' engines , please feel free to post pics of them here .
  8. Looks like you are having fun with your build , Felipe ! I have always liked the Brasilian Dart models , especially the 1973 model . I really like the gold-coloured engines (silver-coloured some years ?) .
  9. Coronet Super Bee versus Charger Super Bee (1971 only ) . But , your point is taken . ____________________________________________________________________________ Since this thread has taken a far-turn : - I , too , despise the fast food "up-sale" . Typically , the inquiry as to whether or not I want fries / drink / enema / cake is asked before one finishes their order . Stop.It. - Being asked , "Is that my price ?" when someone's buying an auto part . NO ! That price is for someone else ! Also : "Is that the best you can do [price wise] ? I remember when coolant was $2 / gallon !" Well , I remember when gas cost less than one dollar / gallon ; yet , I never ask the "attendant" if they can "work with me" on the price of gas . Funny how that works , huh ?!? There are many , many more irritating things which people say or do , but I'd be here all night if I wanted to mention all of them !! Ask me again why I've got a Solipistic / nihilistic attitude !
  10. I have a real problem with the misuse of the term 'Rat Rod' . Many of those alleged Rats running around were purposely built to look ratty ; all of the patina that was deliberately added ; the satin black paint ( a vain attempt at replicating black primer ); and the 350 engine. The most irritating term on my list is "Posi" when referring to locking-type differential , on vehicles other than Chevrolets ! Each manufacture had its own term ; Chrysler had Sure Grip ; AMC had Twin Grip ; and so-forth . To a lesser extent , the calling of Wheel Covers as Hub Caps bothers me . A wheel cover is just that : it covers the entire wheel ; and a hub cap is just that : it covers only the hub .
  11. K1 Brazil , are you planning to build this as a United States model or as a Brasilian model ?
  12. Here's a little inspiration for a drag version of this pending kit : an early 70's SS/DA Hemi 'Cuda :
  13. I can attest to the quality of Missing Link Resins parts ; they're beautiful !! I bought a set of their 1969-1974 Dodge hub caps , and to say that I'm impressed would be the understatement of the decade !! Not only is everything about these intricate hubcaps 100% perfect , Kevin is also a superb seller ; just a cool dude to deal with . His customer service goes above the call of duty !! Highly recommended
  14. That's quite the nifty little rocket you've got there ! Now , if only Peugeot were to re-enter the U.S. market ... Their new(est) crop of vehicles would provide stiff competition !
  15. Isn't Lindberg the last standing kit manufacture whose facilities are still in the U.S. ?? If so , I would hate to see them fail , based upon their U.S. manufacturing alone ! I must admit that it's been ___ years since I've bought one of their kits ; not out of any prejudice , just out of accessibility . I've been eyeing the Little Red Wagon and the 1967 Olds 442 as well as the 1966 Chevelle , and have also considered their "A38" Chargers ; I've just not committed myself *yet* . In spite of my opening statement : Perhaps Round2 or Moebius (sp?) will buy the old tooling from Lindberg and keep that torch burning ...
  16. The official paint code from Chrysler is TB3 . Ask your paint guy for 1972 Basin Street Blue (Plymouth) / Super Blue (Dodge).
  17. That's one clean '73 Coronet ( top photo ) . I like its late-1972-issue license plates ! The '72 Satellite is nice looking , too . I would also like to see someone produce a '71-'74 Satellite ( or even a Coronet ) transkit !! Not only were many of these used police , but also as taxis .
  18. Two words regarding California-spec police cars in the 70's : 1.) Jerry 2.) Brown 'Nuff said ...
  19. It's all about the scorched paint on the left (passenger side) shear panel (inner fenderwell) of the big block A bodies !
  20. Starting with the 1971 models , Plymouth (and their Dodge brethern) B-Bodies shared very little between 2 door and 4 door models ; practically *none* of the sheetmetal interchanges . I've considered making a "4 door 1971 Charger" by bashing the AMT '71 Charger's fascia and rear clip with the 1977/1978 Monaco , but haven't done it yet . Interiors were radically different between 1971-1974 and 1975-1978 models .
  21. Thanks , guys ! I'm aware of the snipers ... ha ha ha ... but am not concerned about their presence . I figure if the kit's meant to be mine , it'll happen for me ; and if someone out bids me , then oh well . It's good to know that the '71 Charger chassis fits well within the Road Runner's body . I'm not sure what I'll do about the interior , as the Charger's uhholstery pattern is different , door panels' details and all .
  22. I've always liked the look of the Stout . It looks like a Studebaker , a classic design in and of its self . The LUV ( Light Utility Vehicle ) is one of my faves from my childhood ; lots of them around in the 70's / early 80's . There was more than one in town with a Buick 215 V8 under its bonnet ; Buick V6 swaps were common as well . RelaxedNoma : Monogram also had a fleetside LUV in its lineup : the Tom Daniel Mojave Mule . It's moulded in yellow , has a Chevy 327 , is 4-wheel-drive , etc. , etc. They show-up on eBay from time-to-time and are usually reasonably priced .
  23. I tossed my hat into the bidding ring on this item : http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-PLYMOUTH-ROADRUNNER-RESIN-CAST-MODEL-/271110160994? It's the same kit inwhich I inquired about , about a month ago ; I didn't bid on it at that time . I'll bash this baby with the recently re-released AMT '71 Charger , plus some customised changes ( Six Barrel induction , etc. ). Wish me some good luck on my bidding !
  24. Man oh man , that's sweet ! Great job on that trim . I'll bet that you were still doing it in your sleep last night ! Any plans to open its bonnet and add an engine ?
  25. Nice work !! That intake looks great !!! How are the headers ; underchassis or fenderwell ? Ever thought about making a casting of the belt and pulleys arrangement from the Street Machine version of the same AMT '71 Duster ??? If you ever do , mark me down on your list , for a few sets of 'em !
