Thank you for your response and presentation. The metallic content is of no matter to me (within reason, of course). I have a bottle of Gunze Burnt Iron ( I use it on exhaust manifolds primarily ) , but it's dark. I use Rubber : Black on hoses and belts ; rubber mats in police/fleet vehicles, too. Thanks again ! I'll look into the XF-84 .

AMT 1960 3-in-1 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck
1972coronet replied to rekcirb13's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
1955 part number ( B5A ... ) -- I wonder if that number was ever updated ( e.g. , B7A... ) ? I have an original-issue Revell 1956 F-100 (1962) . Its two engines have severe tyre-burn ( I'm not planning to use either anyhow, so no loss to me ) ; I'm not sure if that issue includes a single stock exhaust (but it does have a couple of neato surfboards ! ) -
AMT Silverado Bench Seat
1972coronet replied to av405's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'm with you on the bench seating. Certainly, the model companies - moreover the ones with the promo contract - designed/offered the top-line trim levels, the 1988 - ? C1500 is certainly no exception (though the manual trans with shifter was a (pleasant) surprise when the MPC 1988 C1500 kit was released). Ne'er-the-less ; I'd love to see someone offer a resin bench seat ( admittedly, I'm more keen on the base model bench vs. the split bench offerings - but I wouldn't say no to a split bench offering) for the C1500. I'm wanting to 'upgrade' the unbuilt 1988 annual I have ; make it a C-2500 in fleet livery... and maybe convert it to a column shift TH-400 (or 700-R-4). -
Those that were only made once
1972coronet replied to T-Ray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd be keen on a reissue - maybe with additional options : seating comes to mind - with an expanded decal sheet, and with steel wheels with hubcaps. -
Perfect colour choices ! The dark red interior plays so nicely with the silver body and stripe. Keep 'em coming !

I've long loved the '58-'59 (and '60) Fords, and yours is a sparkling example ! I'd give me right eye tooth for a new '58-'59 Fairlane (and accompanying Ranchero). _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's my 'vote' for a once-and-done kit (technically) : MPC's 1978 C10 Step Side Pickup . Note that I mentioned C-10 , as it's the only 2WD iteration of the beloved Squarebody from the entire MPC (et al.) annual series of 1978-c.1982. -

"Six to one..." . Even though Oldsmobile's version was dubbed Econo-Way , it's a Buick 225 odd-fire through & through.
-
yep, reformulated. Maybe I'm off on my Chrysler paint colour assignments , but an R prefix would indicate 1979 ( "E" = 1969, ad seq. , skipping "O" , "I" , and "Q" )
-
Perhaps the wagon, too ! Reupload that I-6 / Powerglide, too !
-
Nifty ! May I propose a suggestion ? The 225 V6 is available in the MPC Jeeps, IIRC. Can't get any more authentic than the ol' Dauntless itself.

Boss 351 Hood Painting
1972coronet replied to Perspect Scale Modelworks's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How were the bonnets painted from the factory ? Centre colour (black or silver) painted first, followed by a big masque, then the body colour painted ? I know that that's how Chrysler did it, at least with the painted stripes of the 1970 Challenger (and likely others). -
That resembles EV2 Hemi Orange / Tor-Red . Looks quite good !

1970 Dodge Challenger Kits - Whose is best?
1972coronet replied to jjsipes's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hai . Both were 1970 models from the Los Angeles Assembly : R/T 440 Magnum (the wrecked one being cut-up, JS23U0E) and a 'regular' hardtop with a 383 two barrel (car stolen from LAX long term parking, JH23L0E ). I just posted "Jill" as an exhibition of the 1972 grille , and how , IMO, that redesign doesn't look as "sad" as the 1973-1974 when the CalTrans bumper guards came along. -

I pray to J that those steelies / hubcaps are part of the new tooling ! -
What would YOU like to see as a model
1972coronet replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Round2 still has the 1975/1976 Dart Sport tooling. It was last issued a few years ago in '1976' guise (i.e., 1976 annual's box art), and is moulded in a gold metallic. That issue has some of the Hang 10 decals (body stripes ; none of the interior 'upholstery') . A 1975 model of the Hang 10 would be 'easiest' as only decals would be necessary (an oversimplification on my part -- the 4-speed trans is incorrect, along with other items I've mentioned ad nauseam on this forum over the years). I'd be keen on a 1974 grille and tail lamp panel 'filler' for the MPC Dart. At that point, a 1973 340 could be represented as well. Insofar as the kit is concerned : ditch those Pontiac-esque "custom" rims and replace them with the Ansen-type rims from the 1977 edition of the LM29 ( Smokey Chaser ? ) . The 1:1 Hang 10 could be had with the E58 360 (245hp and long on torque) , with the 225 and 318 as standard engines. That 360 was thee hot ticket for those Dart Sports and Dusters. -
I'd read some friends' in memoriam for Joel "Mr. Motion" Rosen of Motion Performance on Long Island . One of the hobby's greatest innovators , engineers, and Ten Finger Tune-Up folks in history.

I'm just pleased to read that the Chevy Pickup is "comming soon" !

A few minor things for strictly OOB build-ups : - Incorrect engine compartment - Hodgepodge of 1967-1968-1969 tail lamp /valance - Incorrect, F-250-style 6-lug wheels as the option (thankfully, a nice set of period correct rims were added to the c.2015 ad seq. issues) The kit's good attributes outweigh any of its shortcomings : - Rare-in-1:1 "Recall" (W27) rims - Hurst Dual Gate consolette & shifter (in spite of the kit's having a 4-speed. This is an artifact of the kits' original issues which included a 225 six/ 904 'standard', and a 426 Race Hemi / 727 as the option) - The only game in town for a '67-'69 Barracuda (though I'm keen on the hardtop and convertible styles those years more so than the fast back) - Presents nicely as an OOB 'shelf candy' kit.

1970 Dodge Challenger Kits - Whose is best?
1972coronet replied to jjsipes's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
IMO, that design looked good for 1972 only. Once those highway work truck bumper guards (which, conversely, I actually like on the 1973-1974 Duster & Dart Sport) came along, the novelty wore off. -
Kammy is a gorgeous ginger Tabby. Her name reminds me of 'Kami' (Japanese for 'Spirit' , etc.). I'm pleased that she gave you many years of companionship and love !
