  1. Speaking of Chrysler L-bodies : when was the last reissue of the 1987/1988 Daytona ? That's be nice to have again - but with different tyres (stock had Gatorbacks ; MPC employed (incorrect) B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A tyres) .
  2. Since everyone's adding another 5 faves : 1.) The Iceberg / Freedom of Speech - Ice T 2.) Velvet Underground (alternate mix) - Velvet Underground 3.) Dirt - Alice In Chains 4.) The Soft Parade - Doors 5.) Expensive 5hit [misspelling on purpose] - Fela Kuti & Afrika 70
  3. 1.) Notorious Byrd Brothers * - Byrds 2.) Piper at the Gates of Dawn *- Pink Floyd 3.) White Light / White Heat * - Velvet Underground 4.) The Covent, the Sword & Arm of the Lord - Cabaret Voltaire 5.) Only Theatre of Pain - Christian Death * Mono Mixes
  4. That is one awesome looking VL29C1 you're building ! That Leaning Tower of Power is perfection - I really dig on the RV-2 compressor sitting high and proud.
  5. Typical feline. They're testing things for us to make sure they're safe.
  6. Thanks much for your info and for sharing your expertise. Makes sense that the earlier P.N.'s would have the model's alpha-designation as the prefix ; and, yes, L-M (not sure if Edsel shared Ford or L-M part numbers) had unique suffixes (at least the c.1998 & earlier designations). Interesting that the intake manifolds' number was "---- 9425 ----" ; IIRC, the upgraded/superseded 4.6 Triton intake part number was F8AZ - 9425 - [ _____ ] , which was previously F2AZ . I remember being stunned when I saw an invoice for the City of Los Angeles : ATTN : [ whatever the city garage's address was near the Twin Towers / Men's Central Prison ], which was calling for 10 ( TEN ! ) intake manifolds . I was oblivious to the faults of the earlier 4.6 intake's propensity of cracking/popping the coolant crossover ; I do remember the "F8AZ" prefix. Thanks again !
  7. Tamiya's pearl-clear has fine 'pearl' (synthetic). I've used it a few times, followed up with Testors enamel gloss cote ( I know, I know... but after 18 years of being on the car's body (AMT's c.2005 reissue of the Rat Packer Chevy II Street Freak ), I don't recognise any discolouration . IMO, spray the parts with their - Tamiya's - TS-13 , over the existing paint/pearl-clear, then polish the finish.
  8. Thanks for the info . Not sure what prompted me to consider that; the part number. Perhaps the routing (shape) was modified ? From what I'm able to recall from my years of working in the parts dept. of the local Ford dealership, the part numbers' alpha-numeric sequence (e.g. the first two characters for decade/year) is the only portion which hath stuck with me. That changed in the late 1990's (after the "F-" prefix, which was dropped after 1998 (though Motorcraft labeled some of the parts as "F9-"), after changing - gradually - from 1997-onward ("W-" = 1997, "X-" = 1998, "Y-" = 1999, and "Z-" = 2000). Oldest part numbers' prefixes I can remember seeing (regular stock, not NOS) ? A7- B2- I'm not sure how 1930's and earlier numbers were assigned.
  9. I'm picking fly poop out of pepper here : is that D1AE number exclusive to the 1971 / Cleveland ? Or was it continued through 1973 without being superseded to a D3AE ?
  10. Outstanding ! Now I've got to get a copy to build .
  11. Splendid WH41N7A ! Those wheel covers look right at home on that bad boy - I was going to recommend the wheel covers in the Turtle Wax van , but those Chevy versions are perfect. Keep 'em coming !
  12. Country & Western and Bluegrass infused with R&R dates to the likes of The Monkees ( Mike Nesmith ) , and The Byrds ( Mr. Spaceman being an early example , followed by 1967's Younger Than Yesterday (first appearance of then-session player Clarence White) and every album since). Here's one of my favourite songs from, IMO, the Byrds best album :
  13. Ron Asheton's New Order as well. Lovely low-fi recordings of Ron, Dennis "Machinegun" Thompson, Jimmy Ricca , and a couple of different singers.
  14. Now I feel compelled to see if Super Clean is in stock where I work. Who knows these days ? A certain state out here where I (unfortunately) reside is famous for banning things arbitrarily -- the original Super Clean being one such item.
  15. Wesley Willis should be installed in that R&RHOF .
  16. The MPC Dodge Van kits have that tiller .
  17. IIRC, the GMC sixes were exclusive to GMCs ; the I-6 being a tall deck vs. the Chevy I-6. Not sure if that's noticeable in-scale ?
  18. MPC offered a C-10 for 1978 as an annual. It was the only 2WD version. Mid-1978 or so, a K-10 was released ( Dust Devil ) , but it wasn't 100% factory stock. The fleetside (I've trouble remembering whose nomenclature is proper when mentioning the bed style of their pickup's beds) wasn't released until the Fall Guy issue of c.1983. The Revell C-10 is quite toy-like ; detail is scant at best. It can be made to look decent, but that'd take some swapping and massaging. Revell's kit glass from that era was pretty bad, as one could see the 'runners' along the top edge of the windscreen and backlight.
  19. Thank you for your well wishes , @bobthehobbyguy. Murrieta here (north of San Diego/county off of I-15). As of 0850 hrs. on Monday, 21-8-2023 , it's been a "nothing burger" for the most part - I've seen worse. There was an earthquake in Ojai (Santa Barbara area, east-of) at 5.5 on the see-you-at-the-party-Richter-Scale. Someone's got a "sick sense of humour" , adding that atop the tropical storm, neh ? Sixty-one degrees this morning at 0645 hrs. Still quite humid (93%), but comfortable ne'er-the-less (esp. since temps have been in the 100's with 35% humidity, until Saturday. But, those searing days'll be back soon). Thanks again for your concern ?
  20. Dynamite RM23V0 ! That interior is perfect ! Body colour looks similar to EB5 .
  21. Great to see this again, Mike ! Thanks for sharing it for us to peruse ; one of my favourites of yours !
  22. Loud is the only way to play Lou Reed's 1975 masterpiece entitled Metal Machine Music
  23. It's a really fun, truly tragic film : More (1969 film) - Wikipedia
  24. Vacations which include travelling around in a 400 two barrel-equipped Chrysler C-body, are frequently interrupted by stops for fuel
  25. We're all pleased that you made it through that storm and returned to life. Keep on keepin' on !
