My 1967 and 1965 Coronets
1972coronet replied to drodg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
B5 blue has a few different shades, depending upon the year(s) of the vehicle(s): - EB5 was used from 1969-1970 ( "E" = 1969 ) - GB5 was used from 1971-1973 ( "G" = 1971 ) - KB5 was used from 1974-1975 ( "K" = 1974 ) - MB5 was used from 1976- c.1980 ( "M" = 1976 ) If a model year's not specified, any of those '-B5' blue shades could be provided/mixed. -

Wish round 2 would release some obscure stuff
1972coronet replied to jeffp60's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I wouldn't - and I don't - consider a 1971-1976 (best years, IMO) Firebird et al. to be obscure. Heck the Craftsman Plus treatment would be great ! Now... 1958 De Soto... let's add the truly obscure Bendix Electro-Jector electronic fuel injection to the 383 ! -

My 1967 and 1965 Coronets
1972coronet replied to drodg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nice pair of "W's" ! Now a couple of enquiries : 1. ) Does the '65 have back-up lamps ? 2.) Which plant(s) built them ? -
One of my neighbours bought a brand new 1966 GTO (he kept it until 1974). He said that the vinyl top was curling and peeling within six months ! Haha. Perhaps this is a more accurate replica than we'd imagine.

"Cheap & Fast" is the motto - the mantra - of an overwhelming majority of U.S. businesses. I've worked for "cheap and fast" idiots, most recently in 2020. "Cheap & Fast" has harboured in - via dipstick college kids, typically - anything from "leaf blower landscaping" on the lower rung, to Titans on the higher end. I quit my last job in January 2020 (just in time) due to my being sick and tired of abject incompetence from owners and management.

I want to discuss puttys and fillers.
1972coronet replied to ctruss53's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've watched just about every build by Mr. Lin (he's a member here, though I've forgotten his username) on his YouTube channel. He employs some "black CA glue" as a filler ; check out his (fantastique) videos here : -

The Green Goblin would be neat ! I'm not sure if there's an already existing conventional which could be used (I'm not up on tractors).

[ side bar ] You belong to The Blank Generation just like me ! Have you ever watched Slacker ? It's a fine peering into our generation, taking place in Austin, Tx., in 1990. Another fave of mine from "back then" was the - edited entitlement here for ostensible reasons - 'H_tler World Tour' "concert" shirt. There was a Levi's store here called Miller's Outpost, and they sold tons of those shirts (back before the cancel clods and triggered brigade ruined everything slightly humourous).

Review of Revell's new chrome spray paint
1972coronet replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm so used to aerosol/spray painting -- that's my comfort zone (haha). I'm not averse to airbrushing, it's just not a feasible arrangement for me as it stands (I live in an apartment, so a compressor wouldn't gel with my fellow inmates neighbours). Oh, well... some day. Thanks again for sharing your efforts and results ! -
IMO, at least that'll provide a template for those who wish to scratch build one from plastic and/or brass.

Review of Revell's new chrome spray paint
1972coronet replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The Revell Chrome Aerosol looks promising. IMO, it seems to replicate polished/anodised stainless steel quite well -- think : windscreen of, say, the MPC 1968 Coronet Convertible. Pretty darned close to 'plating', but without the inherent 'depth' which vacuum plating provides (e.g., bumpers). Thanks to all whom have provided exhibitions of the Revell Chrome paint ! -
IMO, the Transit Connect had/has the ideal seating position : just comfortable enough to feel secure and sure, yet not too high nor too low an entrance/exit . Truly, the last generation Ranger (not that thing that was introduced a few years ago) was ideal. Surely, the seat wasn't as comfortable as the one in the Connect, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The worst ? Any of the cadre of "door stop" passenger cars : the sit too low to be comfortable for entering/exiting without one's back screaming "STOP doing this to ME !" after stopping for deliveries 4 or 5 times.

1971 Charger Daytona ?
1972coronet replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Phantom (and a nice one at that). There's a couple around, as well as one or two 1971 Road Runner Superbirds (1 with a 383, and one with a Hemi, IIRC). -
