  1. Thanks much , @tim boyd, for the presentation ! Man alive, this thing looks awesome ! The correct fender-cowl-door separations ; the clear back-up lamp portion ; the separate grille ; the open-"vent" Rallye rims ; those sweet tyres (who cares if it's got Firestones instead of Good Years ? Those factory tyres didn't last long anyhow (especially when downloading the power of a 340, etc.) , so the Wide Oval RWL's are perfect). Then there's the decals ! I recognise the Sizzler decals, as well as the Sizzler-specific 'strobe-pinstripe' decals ! Gorgeous ! Now I'm going to have to order yet another one or five of these kits ( already have two on order) .
  2. I had a fetish for AMT's Chevy Van kits back in the seventies. I don't know how many of them followed me home from GEMCO and/or FEDCO back then ! Me aunt and uncle had a '74 G-10, and I loved that thing - from an artistic standpoint. The stylling of something as simple as its hubcaps , and all of the boxy-but-rounded contours of that body. So, I bought one of the MAT kits every time I went to the aforementioned stores with me folks. Then there was the MPC 1976-78 Pinto , Pinto Wagon , and Mustang II kits which were brimming the shelves of the toy section at Market Basket ! Another 'trilogy' I couldn't get enough of ! A close 3rd is the MPC 1976-1978 Datsun Pickup and the 1978 C-10 Step Side. Sears always had the Datsuns, and GEMCO had the C-10's (though Sears seemed to carry those as well).
  3. I heard that he's supposed to play the part of Clint Eastwood in the stage performance version of Gran Torino which is currently touring the States.
  4. I agree completely. The tooling for the Duke of Prunes (or whatever its name is) is so ancient as to be unsalvageable ! Last one I built was the "1970" version from the F&F series of +/- 20 years ago. That kid was run ad nauseam prior to that, and ad infinitum since -- retire that thing !
  5. Thank you for your response and presentation. The metallic content is of no matter to me (within reason, of course). I have a bottle of Gunze Burnt Iron ( I use it on exhaust manifolds primarily ) , but it's dark. I use Rubber : Black on hoses and belts ; rubber mats in police/fleet vehicles, too. Thanks again ! I'll look into the XF-84 .
  6. I've got a couple of the (pending) MPC 1971 Demon 340 kits on order. In recognition of the kit's bucket seat interior, I wish to replicate the black/charcoal colour . What - if any - off-the-shelf brush-on charcoal is available for this foray ? Tamiya's Gun Metal ?
  7. I found this : an engine/transmission combo which includes Mopar Performance valve covers : Plymouth 440 Engine Kit (1/25) (fs) (modelroundup.com)
  8. 1955 part number ( B5A ... ) -- I wonder if that number was ever updated ( e.g. , B7A... ) ? I have an original-issue Revell 1956 F-100 (1962) . Its two engines have severe tyre-burn ( I'm not planning to use either anyhow, so no loss to me ) ; I'm not sure if that issue includes a single stock exhaust (but it does have a couple of neato surfboards ! )
  9. I'm with you on the bench seating. Certainly, the model companies - moreover the ones with the promo contract - designed/offered the top-line trim levels, the 1988 - ? C1500 is certainly no exception (though the manual trans with shifter was a (pleasant) surprise when the MPC 1988 C1500 kit was released). Ne'er-the-less ; I'd love to see someone offer a resin bench seat ( admittedly, I'm more keen on the base model bench vs. the split bench offerings - but I wouldn't say no to a split bench offering) for the C1500. I'm wanting to 'upgrade' the unbuilt 1988 annual I have ; make it a C-2500 in fleet livery... and maybe convert it to a column shift TH-400 (or 700-R-4).
  10. I'd be keen on a reissue - maybe with additional options : seating comes to mind - with an expanded decal sheet, and with steel wheels with hubcaps.
  11. Perfect colour choices ! The dark red interior plays so nicely with the silver body and stripe. Keep 'em coming !
  12. I've long loved the '58-'59 (and '60) Fords, and yours is a sparkling example ! I'd give me right eye tooth for a new '58-'59 Fairlane (and accompanying Ranchero). _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's my 'vote' for a once-and-done kit (technically) : MPC's 1978 C10 Step Side Pickup . Note that I mentioned C-10 , as it's the only 2WD iteration of the beloved Squarebody from the entire MPC (et al.) annual series of 1978-c.1982.
  13. Tæo , perched upon the highest-accessible spot in the room. 23-10-2023 , 1400 HRS.
  14. "Six to one..." . Even though Oldsmobile's version was dubbed Econo-Way , it's a Buick 225 odd-fire through & through.
  15. yep, reformulated. Maybe I'm off on my Chrysler paint colour assignments , but an R prefix would indicate 1979 ( "E" = 1969, ad seq. , skipping "O" , "I" , and "Q" )
  16. Perhaps the wagon, too ! Reupload that I-6 / Powerglide, too !
  17. Nifty ! May I propose a suggestion ? The 225 V6 is available in the MPC Jeeps, IIRC. Can't get any more authentic than the ol' Dauntless itself.
  18. How were the bonnets painted from the factory ? Centre colour (black or silver) painted first, followed by a big masque, then the body colour painted ? I know that that's how Chrysler did it, at least with the painted stripes of the 1970 Challenger (and likely others).
  19. That resembles EV2 Hemi Orange / Tor-Red . Looks quite good !
  20. Hai . Both were 1970 models from the Los Angeles Assembly : R/T 440 Magnum (the wrecked one being cut-up, JS23U0E) and a 'regular' hardtop with a 383 two barrel (car stolen from LAX long term parking, JH23L0E ). I just posted "Jill" as an exhibition of the 1972 grille , and how , IMO, that redesign doesn't look as "sad" as the 1973-1974 when the CalTrans bumper guards came along.
  21. I pray to J that those steelies / hubcaps are part of the new tooling !
