  1. The lack of Krylon seems to at least partly explain all of the crummy, "T.O.Y.S." graffiti around these days.
  2. Into The Void is indeed on Master of Reality [1971]. All of their albums are great through Sabotage, IMO. Technical Ecstasy has a couple of good tunes on it, but over-all it pales in comparison to their 1969-1975 sound. OTOH, I dig the album artwork for Ecstasy. Another far out piece by Hipgnosis.
  3. One of my favourite "ripoff" movements is 1969 (Stooges) whose instrumental is borrowed from the 'middle 8' in Tribal Gathering (Byrds). Ron Asheton of The Stooges admitted that "...Gathering" was thee influence on 1969, as Asheton was a huge fan of The Byrds.
  4. There was a 350-SS version as well, available concurrently with the 454-SS.
  5. Nice clean build-up of that Moussetang! Unlike that godawful New programme went the way of Micro Machines and Diners' Club, the kit has redeeming value -- and yours is a perfect representation.
  6. I love how that song just comes blasting-in on Sabotage! The entire album rules like Kung Fu! I'm especially fond of the outro to Symptom of the Universe.
  7. An arcane reference which I still use to this day (what, 30 years later?).
  8. Thanks much for the photos and descriptions! So many sweet kits coming along! - 1968 GTO. What can I say? We haven't had a 'real' 1968 GTO since.. 1968? I'm feeling Starlight Black with red interior! - 1965 GTO. At last! The roof is moulded with the body! Those hubcaps look GREAT! - 1965 Time Machine Chevelle. Great to see this Freak back in the mix! - Datsun Pickup. That'll be an excellent companion to the stock 1977 annual kit I've got. - 1968 Coronet R/T Convertible. Long... Time... Coming. Its interior looks fantastique! Delightful engraving on those separate door cards! (Now, do I wish that a correct brake master cylinder was added in place of the 1966 & earlier version? Yes. However, it's an easy enough chop-off-and-correct modification, so... no complaints.) - 2021/2022/2023 Ante-Sub-Sequitur Charger. That chassis and suspension assembly is - dare I say - Tamiya quality! WOW! **[EDIT]** - 2022 [?] Bronco. I'm so pleased to see a new subject (along with the Charger) being kitted again (the Camaro was, what, 2015?). Its interior detail looks exquisite! Removable top really gives a bird's eye poo view of the intricate details and engraving. BRAVO!
  9. I'm 52. I've long had a preference for Psychedelia, Hard Rock (I consider Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers to be hard and fast traditional Rock), and Experimental.
  10. "Longer 'an you been alive.", said Jackie Brown as he shut the truck of the Curious Yellow 1971 Road Runner
  11. Was the bench seat only in the 1978 2WD annual? I have a mint unbuilt '78 annual - never noticed the odd proportions of the bench (maybe 'cause I was 8 when I built the original). IIRC, that '78 2WD has the Scottsdale trim, which was between the Custom Deluxe and Cheyanne trim levels. I, too, would take a bench vs. buckets any day in a pickup (I'm a fan of spartan, base model appointments: rubber mats and vinyl seats). At least an option for both would be welcomed.
  12. I'd love to see a Geo Metro kitted, even if it's promo-style. heck, a full-detail (okay, a spank better'an promo) would be even better! Make that rascal a 2-in-1: stock putter, or a full-out custom with a mid-mount LT-1 (the original) or something outrageous. While I never cared for the Storm, I know that a lot of folks would buy one or five for the nostalgia.
  13. 1967 Top of the Pops
  14. Tough to narrow to three... Let's see here...
  15. That's too bad. I'm not alone in not only wanting for them, but am also willing to pay a relative premium for a kit with them (e.g., the pending K-10/K-15 pickups). Thanks for your reply.
  16. Delightful colour on a wonderful build! Is that over primer or a base colour? If so, what colour primer, what colour base? Thanks.
  17. Thanks for the info. I should've looked for 'XS-34' instead my just guessing/hoping.
  18. How about some adhesive '3D' emblems such as those included in the Tamiya kits? That would solve the engraving issue.
  19. At the risk of my further derailing of the original topic: if I could go back in time and order a new '69 Chevelle, I'd specify a COPO 427 in 300 Deluxe trim.
  20. I'd be interested in knowing what base and/or colour primer was used under that X-34. Likewise, I'd like to know if it's available in their aerosol line.
  21. I wasn't aware of the 1969-only "package" until fairly recently myself. I read an article about one which was sold through Nickey -- base 325hp 396, 4 speed, taxi interior, etc. It was a 1969-only offering. Next time the SS found its way onto non-hardtop two doors was 1973.

  23. To build upon your -- the O.P.'s -- enquiries regarding four doors and wagons: I've noticed that many four doors are most popular in Australia; not sure if wagons are; UTE's are also popular. Certainly, this doesn't speak to the U.S. market nor its manufacturers. None-the-less, the popularity of the AMT Nova Wagon belies this -- a kit which, in stock form, was thought (however correctly) to be lost forever. Its tooling was heavily modified in c.1967 to the Funny Car version which was reissued periodically until a few years ago (I'm sure that the core of that iteration is still around... someone'll correct my information, please). Perhaps one of Round2's, et alia, finest offerings is the (pending) 1968 Coronet R/T Convertible! Another long gone and highly desirable kits for absolutely decades now! AND it's a marked improvement over the original kit (MPC, 1967) in every imaginable way! IIRC, the hardtop version is due sometime in '23 as well. You're not alone in hoping for more everyday man vehicles; of more base models. The Revell 1966 Chevelle Wagon --phantom that it is with the 396/4-speed and SS bonnet-- is an excellent basis for a more pedestrian representation (6 cylinder, small V8, etc., etc.). Personally, I'd love for Revell to issue their 1968 Chevelle with a two door coupe body with 300 Deluxe (base model) interior, and throw in a correct L79 for good measure. then, likewise, the 1969 version could receive the same treatment, but with the SS-396 (the only year for the SS-396 being an option package on the two door coupe (sedan, et alia) with 'taxi cab' interior).
  24. I don't mind the decals if their purpose is to be applied-over an existing, cast-in emblem. It's the decals-in-place-of-emblems that bother me (or, worse yet, side marker lamps). Just too toy-like and two-dimensional ! What makes those adhesive 3D emblems so nice is that they're applied like the 1:1 versions; similar to decals: adhesive backing with a clear, non-adhesive 'cover'. Easy peasy.
