  1. "Did he just say 'win-win'?", enquired the old guy at the bus stop on Beach Boulevard, "or did he say 'Nguyen-Nguyen'?"
  2. A glue kit of the 1/16 Chevy C/K pickups was announced, then cancelled (c.1980). Instead, the "snap" together C-20 (maybe C-30) series was released (Action Snaps), which included a long bed fleetside with snowplow. I'd love to see that version reissued!
  3. I'd be down for the c.1978 iteration -- especially since it's advertised on the box sides of the Streaker Vette and others. I have zero interest in the later, modified reissues (all of those 1980's custom "touches" can stay back in the 80's where they belong), but I'm sure that others would be all about those versions.
  4. Thanks much for sharing that mock-up photo. I can visualise the finished compartment; Pontiac Engine Blue Metallic six with the plated air cleaner, against the semi-gloss black wheel wells and firewall. Yes, that OHC does look miniscule in that vast engine bay. I'm sure that whatever you decide to do, it'll look great.
  5. This one's been advertised on recent reissues' boxes' sides, but, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been issued yet:
  6. Tamiya's Champagne Gold Metallic is a perfect colour. I'd painted the AMT Nova Wagon with it -- absolutely perfect for a 'generic' light gold metallic which was a common colour on the Nova of that era (and other vehicles). I second the OHC 6! One of the coolest engines ever produced! Are you thinking about the Sprint version of the engine?
  7. Ones of them Fords is me 2004 CVPI, a former Inglewood California unit
  8. Not sure how I'd missed this four years ago -- My. Word. That is a dynamite build-up! Nice work on that 360hp 396! I have the c.1996 --first issue-- of this kit, and am uncertain the direction I want to go with it. It'll be stock appearing -- I'd like to find an air cleaner decal for the hydraulic lifter 427 (390hp) for it (and the AMT 1968) -- but with wider rear tyres. Keep up the great work!
  9. Absolutely valid points, and I'm inclined to agree. I suppose that my 'excitement' at the prospect of the lettering remaining is more borne-out of being bummed by the blank sidewalls since c.2003. Ne'er-the-less, I agree with your assessment.
  10. 1987 reunion Thunders, Nolan & Kane performing the Heartbreakers classic 'Born To Lose' (sometimes written as "Born To Loose " or "Born Too Loose").
  11. I hope that the raised Firestone on the rear tyres isn't "wiped" from this pending release...
  12. My favourite Baldwin Motion ad/ artwork. I had an image of the 1972 catalogue cover installed onto a t-shirt via Uber Tees (they make one-off designs: Custom T-Shirts - Design Your Own T Shirts at UberPrints) I added the credit to the artist to the lower horizontal portion of the image.
  13. Perhaps this line from the article sums up Jeffries's true craftsman approach: " At first glance, the panels appear to be fiberglass but they’re all aluminum. No Bondo or lead filler was used to forge those curves, just old world craftsmanship."
  14. L89 ! Looking great!
  15. Clouds rolled by as the Solipsist enquired of the Nihilist as to when the next bus was due to arrive
  16. Now if only they'd replace those blob carburetors while they're ridding the kit of blobs (haha)
  17. Micky Dolenz with the then-new Moog synthesiser, 1967 (as used on Star Collector and Daily-Nightly on Pieces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. [1967]
  18. Davy Jones et Dean Jeffries, c.1966
  19. I'm really keen on your idea here, and the work herein. When I'd first read about the interior reworking my first thought was, That'd be a cool Beaumont! I'm looking forward to following your build, as always. Keep on keepin' on!
  20. Steel wheels with base hubcaps, and a 2WD option, s'il vous plait.
  21. Who's going to be the first one to swap a Slant Six/904 into one?
  22. No offence taken. I was just putting my two cents out there from my own experience.
  23. I wonder why Monogram et al. dropped the ball on that? I remember building a few of the originals back in the day -- built all of those Tom Daniel funny car kits back then -- and for some reason, I seem to remember not only a grille decal, but tail lamp decals as well. Welp, I'll have to strike that one from my 'to-buy' list.
