I was hooking up a new monitor for my computer, and when i was finished putting the screws in the back of the screen, it slipped and I jerked my arm hard enough for my elbow to push the body up against my paint rack.

Fantastic looking paint job. I’m still tossing around the idea of buying an air brush. IIRC this particular kit has some fit issues with the front grill and radiator support.

It upsets me to say, that this body got broken. I’m beginning to seriously dislike resin bodies. I had so much time into this body, but, I’m not going to get angry, but just going to move on. At least I have all the rest of the parts to incorporate into another 63 or 64 Galaxie build. Since I still have the decals and everything else, I might even keep my eyes open for another body, down the road. Oh well... time to move on.

This is the route I would go. This stuff seems to be getting harder to find though.

That’s a pretty nice item to have. Ironically the two cars just so happen to be on the cover. Does it cover all of the results inside? I also have decals to do the Gas Ronda car as well, but not until I get another kit from the Bay at a decent price. I’ve recently been adding some older rare Johan and AMT kits to my collection, since I’ve had some extra cash.

I’ve never put mine anywhere except in close reach from my bench. Usually hang them on a cork board. I like to use two sheets at a time, one for rear windows, and windshields, and the other sheet for long side molding trim cuts. I found that this method reduces waste, for me anyway.

How long has it been since you asked about them?

Great idea. I sometimes dread when I have to perform this kind of drilling. I’ll definitely be trying this next time.

They are already back in the mail being returned. I’m gonna order new ones directly from BMF. I’ve read from other builders that the foil sometimes breaks where the wrinkles were at.

I’m no Mopar expert, but the Moebius 426 Hemi looks pretty darn good to me.

From a vendor on eBay. I’ve bought many from him in the past, and they all were perfect except for these two that arrived today. This package did sit in the USPS distribution facility for almost two weeks with no activity with the tracking number. That’s why I was wondering if that MIGHT have caused the wrinkles. Ever since that Louis DeJoy, general postmaster idiot took over, mail has been getting seriously delayed.

I was just wondering if this foil was sent like this, or could it have happened waiting in the USPS distribution center? I ordered this three weeks ago, from Rhode Island to Pa, and it sat at our USPS facility for over two weeks. I’m requesting a refund regardless, but was wondering if temperature could have caused this? After almost three weeks I am back to square one, with no foil.

I agree 100%. I look at some of my older Galaxie builds, and I always thought the bezels look totally wrong.

Yes. But right now I only have .040 plastic strips that are only .015 thick.They are a bit flimsy, and hard to cement. I’d like to run down to the LHS and grab a .020 pack. I know just cutting some of the thicker strips that I do have is an option, but I’d rather have some nice, straight, new pieces, since my cuts will look like a hack job.

The strip I glued together was too thin. So I had to scribe a thicker piece to use. Glued them in, but due to this body being brittle, it seems every time I touch it, a piece of the drip rail comes off. After this dries, I’m planning on filing the repair to the drip rail down.

I originally had some strip styrene that I tried to scribe as straight as I could, to make a pillar post. After seeing how bad it came out, I glued some strip styrene together, side by side, to make it look more real. I’m just waiting for it to dry, so I can glue on the new posts.

Sanded the Galaxie rear bumper trim away. This area has no trim on the 300, as it would be painted body color.
