  1. Lucas, Beautiful job on this build! The paint and colors look great. BTW, what brand of paint and what colors did you use? Mike.
  2. You don't think the previous soak actually softened the Tamiya primer? It was only soaking for about an hour in Super Clean that was diluted with water.
  3. Thanks! Do you think the initial soak in Super Clean I did a couple of months ago could have softened the primer even though it wasn't soaking long enough to remove it. I would have thought by now the primer would have hardened back up.
  4. Hi, I had used Super Clean to remove acrylic paint(Tamiya acrylic, Testors Acryl) with success. I only soaked the model for about an hour or so and it removed all the acrylic paint but left the Tamiya(Fine Surface) primer on the model. This was done a couple of months ago. I just noticed that the primer is kind of soft. Did the initial soak in the Super Clean soften the primer? If I soak the model overnight, will the Super Clean also remove the Tamiya primer? Tamiya primer is lacquer but I thought Super Clean also removed lacquer and primer. Should I dilute the Super Clean with water or use it straight? BTW, will ScaleCoat II Wash Away paint remover work on removing the primer? I've heard good things about it. However there's putty on the model I don't want removed. I think I read that Scale Coat II Wash Away will remove putty. Thanks, Mike.
  5. I'll have to pick up one of the Aoshima kit's. The only issue I have with them is that they are curbsides. I really wish they had an engine, but I guess that could be added using a Revell/Monogram 1/24 Firebird kit for parts. However for a Knight Rider build an engine really isn't that important anyway.
  6. I read that some of the other re-issues of this kit had a later version of the interior. I'm glad Round 2 put the correct '84 interior in this latest release. Which versions(Seasons) of the Aoshima K.I.T.T did you buy? Will you be building these soon? Mike.
  7. Mike, Thanks for posting the pictures! It seems that the only issue is having to make the fender vents. I like the new decal sheet with the K.I.T.T. computer images. The original issue never had those. BTW, does this issue have the correct '82 Trans AM interior tub and front seats? I can't tell from the pictures. Mike.
  8. Would you mind posting some pictures of the Round 2 MPC K.I.T.T. parts and decals?
  9. It's a shame Round 2 didn't fix the tooling for this release. If I ever build another KITT I'll try and get the original release or get the Round 2 kit and use an old MPC Firebird kit I have for the body.
  10. Thanks guys! I didn't think it was Chevy Orange but wasn't 100% sure.
  11. Does anyone know what what color the engine blocks were painted in 1978 - 1981 Corvettes?
  12. Bob, you really did a lot of work on this and it all paid off! Beautiful. Mike.
  13. Bob, this is freakin' AWESOME! You really hit the nail on the head with this one. The hat and dress really top it off. Mike.
  14. Beautiful build Ron! Every detail is perfect. I really like the stock body Pro Mod look.
  15. Does anyone have one of the MPC 1/25 Knight Rider KITT Round 2 Re-issue kits yet? I am wondering if Round 2 corrected the parts back to it's original release.
  16. Revell's '68 Firebird would also make a good starting point to create a tool for a 67/68 Camaro. Most of the '68 Firebird resembles a Camaro anyway. If I were to combine a Revell chassis with the AMT 67/68 Camaro I'd most likely use a Revell '68 Firebird chassis. I don't have a Revell '69 Camaro on hand but I do have a Revell '68 Firebird so I'm sure that would work out. Is the Revell '69 Camaro chassis and the Revell '68 Firebird chassis basically the same?
  17. Thanks for posting this! I've read about a method using a straw to decant paint but this looks easier to do.
  18. John, This is an awesome build! GM should make one like it. Are the white stripes decals or painted on? What clear did you use on the body? Mike.
  19. Are all versions of the Aoshima Knight Rider model, curbsides. with no engine? Do they offer a version with an engine?
  20. This is an absolutely beautiful build! It looks like a regular production Charger as it should. It was a pleasure following the build thread! Mike.
  21. Any updates on this one? It looks like you were off to a great start.
  22. Yuri, this is incredible! The paint is beautiful and the detailing in the engine compartment makes it look like a real car. What color did you paint the body? Mike.
  23. Is this new box art that will be on the Round 2 re-issue? BTW, where did you find this picture?
  24. Beautiful build!
