  1. Thanks Curt for the information. I don't know what my friend was talking about however I figured I'd ask to see if anyone used this specific clear coat over decals. After you apply the clear coat can it be polished? Thanks, Mike.
  2. Nice Vette! is this the 1/24 Monogram kit?
  3. I read that Hemi Orange was also used quite a bit on the General Lees. I'm partial to Hemi Orange, especially since it's a Mopar color, used on a General Lee. Jay's General Lee looks really good in Hemi Orange.
  4. Has anyone sprayed Testors Ultra Gloss Clearcoat Auto Lacquer over decals after the decals were applied to a kit? A friend suggested that the Testors clearcoat lacquer may be too hot and might eat the decals. He also said the Testors clear lacquer would cause the decals to yellow over time. He thought that Gunze clear gloss might be better to spray over decals to seal them on a model. Any thoughts on this?
  5. The General Lees were painted using a few colors. '75 GM Flame Red, EV-2 Hemi Orange, and a few other colors were used on the cars. There really isn't one correct color for a General Lee so anything such as GM Flame Red, Hemi Orange, Hugger Orange... are all technically correct.
  6. Awesome build! It looks like the real thing.
  7. Casey, Nice work so far! I actually shortened a 'Canon Ball Run' van many years ago to build as a replica of a '78 my dad had. The Canon Ball Run kit had the squarer '79 nose so I did some surgery and made it look more like the '78. Mike.
  8. Add ratnasty(Chuck Naylor) to the list. Chuck is a great trader and nice guy. Mike.

  16. Erik, That's a great looking Bandit Trans Am and it's cool that the guy who installed the decals on the actual Bandit cars did yours. Mike.
