  1. No worries Carl, they were probably influenced by some of the British metal bands listed here. Hope you are feeling better, my friend.
  2. No pressure then LOL!
  3. I'll play along
  4. Two cute builds and welcome back!
  5. Looks great and worthy of its award
  6. Must have been the same tour
  7. My favourite Thin Lizzy song
  8. ... previously mentioned John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Yardbirds, home to Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but I'm sure you knew that.
  9. Great choice! How about Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison (from Northern Ireland)?
  10. Are we going to do a separate Irish band thread?
  11. The Irish members on the forum may not see it that way
  12. One of them is English, another member born in England, so may I include U2 as British?
  13. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Britain has produced more great bands than any other nation, especially considering the size of the place. May I add Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, The Who, The Small Faces, Genesis, Faces, Free, Simple Minds, New Order, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Deep Purple, Rainbow, The Animals, Supertramp, Coldplay, Dire Straits, The Police etc. etc.
  14. I'm British by birth born in '55 so grew up listening to lots of great bands live and on vinyl. Where do I start? I'll suggest some less well known bands - Dr Feelgood, Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Stereophonics, The Editors, Echo & The Bunnymen and Home. I saw Queen supporting Mott the Hoople at Leeds Town Hall in 1973 - great gig!
  15. I saw this restored '60's custom at a local car show this weekend and was inspired to create something similar based on the Revell '29 Roadster. I'm using the channelled version of the chassis, with a raised front crossmember and '32 front axle from the Stacy David kit, which also supplied the rear arches (suitably modified to fit and bobbed). The Stacy David front guards will also be used. Parts box tyres and AMT '34 street rod wheels add to the look I'm going for.
  16. I can't get them to play right now, but I'm guessing Led Zeppelin?
  17. Beautiful build, especially the black trim.
  18. The Beemer looks interesting !
  19. This page may help you - posted by Bangshift just now! http://bangshift.com/general-news/thursday-time-killer-a-massive-treasure-trove-of-vintage-late-1960s-trans-am-photos/
  20. Revell 1949 Mercury converted to hardtop, otherwise out of box. Added basic wiring, handpainted whitewalls (Games Workshop acrylic) and Tamiya Pearl Yellow/Pearl Clear rattlecan paintjob.
  21. Probably these two
  22. Has to be Rammstein for me. I did see Golden Earring back in the 70's, but only because Lynyrd Skynrd were supporting them during their first UK tour.
  23. I know that most of the folks on here are from the US and naturally wish for a 19XX big three production car, even though a 19XX +/- one year already exists in kit form. I find your list very refreshing, Richard, and would love to see many of these in kit form. I reckon I would gladly buy 90% of your suggestions, especially the 1940 Mercury, 1953 Buick, 1956 Lincoln, Espada, and a Figoni & Falaschi anything, Don't forget that Ebbro recently released the Citroen DS19.
