  1. Thanks for hosting these Harry, I for one really (or modelly) enjoyed them .
  2. Great build Nick
  3. Nice clean build, Ray
  4. Beautiful build Ferbz
  5. Looking good Aaron
  6. Nice builds
  7. Great build Nie, very nice decal work.
  8. Further to Wayne's reply, it is the paint marketed by Warhammer Games Workshop. They are water based and offer some great metallics, ideal for suspension and engine components etc.
  9. Thanks everyone for the support. I am blown away by some of the detailed replicas built on this forum but that level is beyond me. I agree with you Jeff, this wonderful hobby of ours offers so much freedom and creativity. I recently finished a 'phantom' Bantam altered and had a great time building it. You are instrumental in this Tim, I recently re-read one of your old articles about drag cars where you supported 'what if' builds and that inspired me to dig this one out. Anyways, I got the decals finished last night and here's how it looks right now.
  10. As if I haven't enough projects on the go right now, here's another I've just started. I know that the 1:1 car was a Challenger, but I couldn't resist using the recent Revell Sox & Martin pro stock kit, to see what it might have looked like if he had run a 'Cuda instead. I started the paintjob by applying Tamiya Silver panels over Pure White. I then sponged on some Citadel Boltgun metal to provide a bit of contrast and give a mottled effect. The panels were then coated in Tamiya clear red and purple, after applying the 'Wanted' decal to the doors. Here's how it looks fresh out the paint booth.

I love these kits, you've made a superb start to this one Dennis. And I'm not biased, being a Brit LOL
  12. Dang! I had the recent A la Kart kit working it's way up the 'to build pile, warts and all, and now you've come up with this - awesome Dennis!

I think it looks pretty good too . You should also add the registration plates - don't apply them as decals, but simply cut them from the decal sheet and glue to the kit with a dab of the aforementioned white glue.
  14. Thanks for the feedback guys. Slow progress, but the chassis is completed and I've made a start on the BMF. I'll be using a black decal to fill in the side trim.
  15. Beautiful build.
  16. Looking good, that's a great start for sure. Is this Fujimi or Aoshima?
  17. Building models is addictive too, looks like you've got it big time
  18. Bummer . This was looking so cool. My commiserations.
  19. Thanks guys. The tubing is 1/8" in diameter, Michael.
  20. I had some leftover paint from my recent Bantam Fuel Altered build so I decided to create a support vehicle based on the Jimmy Flintstone phantom body. The engine/transmission is a 289 from the parts box, the driveshaft is aluminium tubing and the exhaust from the mufflers to the rear is styrene rod. The rest of the parts will be from the Revell Thunderbolt kit, with the teardrop scoop removed from the bonnet (hood) and Pegasus Astro Supremes/tyres. This is how it looks so far:
  21. Super little build - nice work under the bonnet.
  22. Two nice, clean builds :). Welcome to the forum!
  23. Thanks for all the comments guys. Confession time, the rear bumper has no white paint on it, it's just a trick of the light - **cough** *ahem** However, it might be something I'll try on a future build! Peter, the underside is finished with Tamiya enamels - semi gloss black (frame), gloss black (rear end and front suspension), gunmetal (rear springs), flat aluminium (transmission pan) and titanium gold (sump). Transmission, sway bars, exhaust are Citadel/Warhammer Boltgun metal. All brush painted. Thanks for asking, hope this helps.
  24. This is going to be cool Aaron.
  25. Lots of terrific builds there - very imaginative.
