  1. Some parts of a build suit our interests more than others. Building is supposed to be fun and when it isn't... box city.
  2. Likewise. Pooling through your thread with one eye on the TV, I wasn't reading closely and I thought it was real... until it was tipped. Not just a nod to your build but your photos too.
  3. The new dash is nothing special, but at least it fits the theme better than the gauge box it replaces.
  4. On the contrary, my understanding is the FAA is one of the obstacles. They are a safety agency and they don't delight in the idea of fallible, propeller driven machinery flying willy-nilly carrying containers over the heads of the general populace. These aren't your local hobbyists flying their R/Cs down by the motor park. I hate to be nay-sayer but I see epic fail on this. Even if the technology works, I could see it being derailed anytime they deliver near beer.
  5. I had a very nice sheet produced by a local laser printer, I provided the white and clear sheets. However I'd also designed the graphics in Illustrator and Photoshop so resolution was high and crisp. Not sure who you could go to for metallic ink printing. I have a Pantone color book that shows metallic inks so I know they're out there.
  6. The Lunajammer Torino begins.
  7. Precious little time to build, but that said, I did redo the dash. Not spectacular but it's more suitable. I'll get pics up after the holidays settle a bit in a day or two.
  8. Might as well start now Tim. By my clock, you and anyone else east of the Atlantic are approved to start. August, Nice choice, looking forward to seeing this built. Pretty big for 1/24, maybe look for parts in 1/20 and see how it looks.
  9. I love your Larry Watson homages. Do more.
  10. Now that's what I'm talkin' about. What a transformation! If the quality of the window damage is consistent with the quality of the rest of the model then yeah, they'll buy it.
  11. I suspect there would be fewer redundant questions being asked if there was a search function to go to first. Yes, I know that (ironically) there is a pinned thread on how to bypass the forum search function, but isn't it like throwing out the baby with the bath water? You know many handfuls of folks didn't use the pinned threads and that's what's determined they be set loose. But how many did use them, benefited from them and returned to them when needed? You don't know?
  12. Afraid I can't join, but FWIW, I love following this and look for it every year. The kit choices are interesting and just seeing what different folks can do in 24 hrs, even if they're not finished.
  13. I was kind of wondering too.
  14. Gothic revival. I love everything about it. The colors, the layout, the texture. Wonderful.
  15. You are your own model show, and what a delight. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed all of them.
  16. A belated congrats to Pat, Nick and all those who outraced the other noble contenders. For all those who didn't make it to the start line, if you choose to finish them I'd sure like to see a final shot here of how they ended up.
  17. I'm off hand drilling. A chuck similar to this in a (small) cordless screwdriver is unbeatable. It turns slow enough for careful drilling and you're less likely to bust the little buggers from too much hand waggle. The image is from Micromark but some hardware stores have something similar.
  18. I guess I'll stake my ante. With a nod to Niko, I'm in with a '69 Torino. Just not a Talladega. Looking forward to starting Jan. 1st.
  19. I think computer modeling has improved forecasting data, but the meteorologist still has be skilled at interpreting it. Too many media forecasters just "plug and play." The good ones, and there are some, are true weather enthusiasts who do their own analysis and professional enough to explain their degree of confidence if they don't have enough info to make a concrete prediction at air time. Maybe cut down the celeb appearances.

    My deuce

I particularly like the height of all the elements ahead of the firewall and how it all fills the space. Something similar is my plan for my own 13-year stalled '32. Nice work.
  21. May be a good example of why it might be better to link your images from a photo hosting site like Photobucket rather than attaching them here. That way your account doesn't take the brunt of the data storage, another site does. Once you've loaded your photo to the hosting site, you just copy and paste here. From a more selfish point of view, attachments aren't visible to viewers unless they are signed in members. Sometimes I'm checking in from another computer (like at work) and don't want to sign in. I can't see your pics and neither can non-registered members. Linked images everyone sees.
  22. This is so nice. They are all beautiful and sentimental. Like a photo out of a day in the life of 1978.
  23. Yeah, pretty sweet. It's been kickin' around a while, I've had this in my reference folder for a year or two. Credits and due diligence to Aaron Beck • Beck Kustoms. Great work.
  24. This is one of the ones that brought me to that page.
  25. Superior. That's it.
