Really nice Jim. This Buick lends itself to the "quiet" custom and you got it dialed in just right.

It did not finish because it was involved in a head-on crash in Siberia that killed British driver Emma Wilkinson and injured her partner three weeks into the race. The driver of the other car and a baby were also killed. Later articles implied alcohol may have been involved with the other driver. It was not a support vehicle but according to one article may have been allowed because they were less particular for that year's race. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-22885146

I don't know why I get such a kick out of this Scott, but it looks pretty good. Maybe add a couple pics to this thread so we can offer you the due kudos that are restricted on the Finished Builds thread.

The more I look at this the better I like it. A-1 Brian!

That's what made me think of Virginia. She only has a bit part but for those minutes every year I have a crush on her.

How about beauty, brains and a classic? Virginia Patton from It's A Wonderful Life. Niece of General George S. Patton and still alive.

Now that's a hot rod. I love what you've done here.

You never disappoint Dominik. Beautiful collection of models.

For sure my man. And mine will be blast proof... at least I think it will be.

From Wikipedia... Actor Bill Paxton, a filmmaker at the time, directed and appeared in the music video for the song, along with cinematographer Rocky Schenck and Robert Haimer's girlfriend at the time, Joan Farber, who designed the costume look. The video aired on NBC television on Saturday Night Live, on December 6, 1980 and the following week. Dr. Demento had a cameo as the bum.

I want that canoe. Thanks for posting where it came from. I've seen them around, just didn't know where people got them. A canoe with a monkey and that's all I want. -

I'm glad this forum has found its way without him, because he was such a monumental presence here I worried about the forum's future in his absence. RIP my friend. -
Just saw this. Nice work all around. Great design/proportions and wonderful art technique. What's not to like?

I hate to say it chums, but I'm tapping out. I like what I've done here, and I want to cast this body. But that means I need to put a lot more effort into surface prep and detail, then mold making and that's just going to push things back. I'm not jazzed enough about it to push hard in the next five weeks. Since I've got so far to go, I'd rather just take my time and enjoy it. I'm still here though, and I'll be helping Rob near the end of this CBP.

So...you think you have a stash????
Lunajammer replied to El Roberto's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know of one builder who appears to also be a compulsive model buyer, his wife may be his enabler. Every week he orders five or ten kits plus multiple supplies. To his credit, he builds quite a bit, but not at that rate. -

What Do I Do?
Lunajammer replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Is there any rush? I have a feeling if you hang onto it, you'll know when the right person comes along. You seem to be fairly connected to builders of like mind.
