Moving, Packing up "The Dukes of Hazzard"
Lunajammer replied to mchook's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
If I were you I'd weed out some of the less collectable doubles, but otherwise, overall you've got a fairly valuable collection. Some hard to find stuff there. -
I'd have taken it back when he offered, no harm, no foul. It was a gift that I assume you presented unconditionally, which means he's not obligated to appreciate it. If he doesn't appreciate it and says "thanks anyway" then it's done. Certainly not a bridge burner.

Dirt track Chevelle

You captured this superbly. I think I just had a moment of nostalgia. -
It was, without question, a game of football.

One thought on this Jonathan, is if the windshield issue becomes a sticking point, make the car backwards. I see you've already started the interior, but the back could be the front and you could just seal up the whole windshield and not mess glass or posts there. That leaves the whole front end to cobble in whatever propulsion you like.

Always great to see some A1 modeling of some non-mainstream subjects. Thanks for sharing.

An ambitious choice for a 24 hour build, but obviously one you knew was doable. Well done.

Fun to see these. Thanks for sharing.

This link is probably one of the more comprehensive single page resources I've found for the casual glue user. It doesn't provide technical data, but covers glue types and where/how to use them for whichever kinds of plastic and model material you want to glue. Though these glues have all been covered here before, this is a one (web) page resource. https://geekandleisure.com/best-glue-for-models-miniatures-buyers-guide-593/

Boy, that's beaut. Nice pics too.

I didn't realize that kit had a small parts count, but it sure looks cool. I like low parts count kits because I like to hack and whack and there are fewer headaches when I'm not trying to make a hundred more parts conform to my alterations.

Wish I could make it. I went to the last GSL where I had a lengthy visit with Bob Shelton, who many of you know co-wrote the Model Car Directories with Bill Coulter. He was insistent that I attend the NNL East. I admit he was very persuasive and he passionately endorsed this event. Were it not for him NNL East was just one of those distant afterthoughts that I was certain I'd never attend, but now I think seriously about going eventually. I would also hope I might revisit one of the nicest car modeling advocates you could know.

Surely there must be more custom chromers than two. Chrome plated plastic shows up on toys, lamp parts and bricka-brack everywhere, so I doubt it's a rare and fine art. I would think that just outside the industrial plastic chromers lies more than a handful of people with acquired knowledge and businesses that could add regular special orders from hobbyists, beyond just car guys.

Nobody vents their pleasure. That, we simply bask in.

Nice work Pat. You really committed yourself to this. Well thought out and executed.

That paint ... speechless.

You've got that right. I'm not sure I've ever seen a build up of it. Sure rings true though, lovely little car done so nice.
