  1. You've made some smart choices and the end result is a beautiful, fresh look at an old kit. I don't think anyone could've done better. Nice work.
  2. The color of my 58 T-bird seemed too precious to cover so it got a good polish.
  3. I like everything about this kit. I'd love to see it rereleased in all it's glory.
  4. Just read this. What a bummer. He came around these parts about 18 years ago with Kris Kristofferson to make a film in ND. Wooly Boys was produced by a local ad/marketing executive. I helped my graphics partner design the billboard.
  5. What breaks my heart for the paint woes is I thought it looked pretty cool just like this.
  6. Our model club used to do an annual display at our library lobby with models tied into books as part of the display. The library staff said it was always their most popular display. Your presentation is nicely laid out.
  7. Being a shooting brake fan and former owner of a Vega wagon and Astre wagon, I've always been frustrated at the poor dimensions of the Vega. Can't be built stock without wailing and gnashing of teeth. But it does fit the funny car chassis AMT used on its other short wheel-base American dragsters. All of these kits have the same wheelbase and body fitment. I believe the poor rear end proportions are self serving to drop onto that chassis with ease. I'd be interested in knowing if there is a real world (racing) precedent for this body mod. (Photos courtesy of internet contributors).
  8. In no particular order...
  9. Yeah, I pretty much see this every day. And by every day I mean never! Clever build Curt.
  10. Yeah, sunlight really does it justice. Beautiful piece Steve.
  11. Stunning. Really beautiful. Superb work.
  12. One of my favorites. I first saw him in the TV mini-series "Inside the Third Reich." I just didn't know it was him but he was very compelling as Hitler's personal architect Albert Speer, who you might say was a reluctant Nazi but who was drawn into Hitler's circle of trust because he was artistic, quiet, honest and not political. I became a fan with Ladyhawke and cemented my fandom with Blade Runner. I'd watch him in anything after that. So sad we won't see any more.
  13. I'm a bit of an Apollo nerd, so my fiancee makes great sport of tossing Cap One barbs at me, knowing I'm an easy target of aggravation at the mere thought of the premise.
  14. Part of the tragedy is it appears to be pilot error. He was an immensely accomplished pilot and warbird restorer. Rebuilt two of the rarest Super Corsair air racers and had a P-51 wing shop. He and Bob Hoover were close friends and he flew air shows all over the country and annually at Oshkosh. But on this day six years ago, during a practice just a couple towns over, he crashed doing a barrel roll. The NTSB cites insufficient altitude for the maneuver. Many questions remain, because it's so unlikely such an accomplished pilot would make such a fundamental mistake on such a fundamental maneuver. Because of the state of the plane, it's giving up no secrets regarding possible mechanical factors.
  15. Sadly, these two are the same plane. The pilot/restorer was an acquaintance of mine and was shocking loss to all in our community. Fortunately, I got to climb all over this plane about a month prior to attending his wake.
  16. Maybe can't see the pearl, but my spidey tingles sense it. As a slot car, does the extended tail make it squirrelly in corners?
  17. That's HOT Gary. I like that interior, seems about right. The little "53" makes a warm fuzzy little nod to racing v-dubs. Nice work.
  18. Thanks for posting this pic. Gives a good close look at the scale of the flecks. This might be just about right for my Revell Hemi-Hydro boat. I got a rudimentary start but didn't know where I wanted to go with it. This might get me back to it.

Most excellent. The metal looks great.
  20. I believe this one is in Iacocca's portfolio.
  21. In the past I switched to Chrome because it was less problematic than Safari, so I'll explore that too.
  22. I got a 404 error "page not found" this afternoon when I tried to start a topic with a link to Fotki pic. Tried 3 times before giving up. Mac OS 10.14 Mojave using Safari, don't recall what version but it would be recent because the computer is new.
  23. '72 Satellite, Roadrunner. Preferring the '72 taillights over the '71s.
  24. The middle tree goes to the AMT '59 El Camino. Large lens is half the custom tail lights for the custom tailgate.
